Eastern Mountain Sports Travel Waist Pack Large Reviews:

"Large" is smaller than I expected.

I wanted a fairly roomy but simple backpack substitute to use for day trips and travelling internationally. Wanted a single top zipper for easy access to the pack without excess padding, gee-whiz extra straps, bungies, water bottle pockets etc. The basic design is excellent for my purposes, but the pack is still pretty small, and this is the "large"- about 9 x 11. Because of aging shoulder problems (rotator cuff repair), I needed to stop wearing a back pack, but still wanted enough room for a windbreaker or sweater, sunglass case and misc. little stuff, keys, maybe a Rick Steves travel book and not much else. I will make it work, but the pack is just a little too small to be ideal. I have to "stuff" a windbreaker in there. However, I do love the simplicity of design -- it does have two zippered compartments, but the main compartment is accessed via a simple top zipper. Would be perfect if it was 11 by 13 inches or 12 x 14. Also like that the strap is long enough to wear the pack diagonally over the shoulder, in subways and other pickpocket prone areas. Overall good product - just needs to be a little bigger.

Great Pack!

I recently used this pack while hiking in Shenandoah National Park. It was comfortable, held everything I needed to carry, and had plenty of compartments to keep items separated where necessary.
