Just what you need!
Absolutely fantastic product, and an aspect of camping/hiking I wish I got into a long time ago (hammocking, that is). I recently bought these (2 sets: 1 for me, 1 for my husband) after doing research about other products on the market. What made me hesitate was the weight; luckily, I have an ultra-light hammock, so what weight I lost in the hammock, I made up for in the straps (it evened out in the end). Their width and the fabric used keeps the straps from stretching and helps protect tree bark from any more damage than what is already done on a daily basis. Quick, easy set up, and plenty of options if you're in a tight spot with trees very close or too far apart. Works with any size tree, but I've become pretty good at spotting those trees that might be a little *too* big (usually, they're also too far apart, too). Sturdy and durable, my husband and I were using these straps almost daily, and I've yet to see wear. They can be bulky, but if you're trying to cut down on what you carry in other areas, you should have room for these straps. I recognize the bulk/weight is there for a reason, and am willing to make the sacrifice for their easy use/functionality and less environmental impact. A great product for any hammock system!
I am new to hammock camping and wasn't sure where to start. But after about a month of research I finally narrowed my gear down and made the purchase. I wasn't for sure what kind of straps would come with the hammock so I waited until it arrived. After it came it was clear that the provided straps would not give me the versatility I needed for different camping situations. So I rode down to REI to pick up these straps. These things are phenomenal! They are long enough to adapt to many situations; tree spacing, tree diameter, etc. I used these on a recent trip where I used my hammock. With these straps I literally had my hammock hanging in 45 sec. They are compact and come with their own travel bag. They actually fit in the bag my tarp came with. I put my system together to be something that I could backpack with. So I was weight conscious. I highly recommend these straps.
Wow! ENO really got it right!
ENO has finally come up with straps that are pure perfection. The original nylon Slap Straps were a bit short and a little stretchy. The Pro version was a little longer, but really stretchy. Both suffered from not enough attachment loops.
These new Atlas straps are perfect! They are about as long as the Slap Strap Pro, so you can get your hammock up almost anywhere. They are made of a polyfilament webbing that doesn't stretch, so you don't wake up on the ground. And they are a continuous strand of short loops, giving much more flexibility when hanging your hammock to get it just right.
If you hammock, do yourself a favor and trade in your old straps for a set of these Atlas straps. You will never look back!
Finally!!! No more stretching!
I can't wait to try these out. I'm so excited they've actually come out with straps that don't stretch. There is nothing worse then going to sleep under the protection of your rain fly and then hours later you're now exposed and soaking wet from the rain with your butt kissing the ground. The other great thing about these is that there are many more loops for connecting your hammock. In the space of two attachment points on the old slap straps, there are now 5 loops. No more having to decide if you want to live with a little slack or strain yourself trying to get to the next loop. I already love these!
Finally! No more stretching!
Finally straps that do not stretch over time like the SlapStraps. There is nothing worse then getting in the hammock under the protection of your rain fly only to wake up hours later getting soaked by the rain with your hind end kissing the ground. These straps solve all of those issues.
Another good thing about them is that they have considerably more attachment loops than the SlapStraps. In the space of 2 loops on the SlapStraps, there are now 5 loops in the same space. This gives you much more flexibility for hanging your hammock. I highly recommend these.
Worked like a charm!
Picked these straps up last week for a camping trip this past weekend. Brilliant and easy to use.
I had previously had the Eno Pro Straps and returned them to REI because they had few loops, but mostly because the straps stretch way to much.
The Atlas straps have addressed that issue by changing the material as well as they have reinforced the straps with 3 lines of stitching that run lengthwise down the straps. They also added many, many more loops that give you so much more flexibility when hanging your hammock.
Out of all the ENO tree huggers, this is the best one. It won't stretch like the SlapStraps. I bought these straps because I picked up the ENO DN on sale and wanted the straps to go with it. I should have waited and done more research about the world of hammocks and hanging before buying these. If I could go back, I would have just purchased a few feet of 1" webbing and some buckles or a toggle and saved a lot of money(and weight). There are cheaper alternatives, but these are pretty good for what they are.
ENO Atlas Hammock staps a good choice
The ENO Atlas Hammock Suspension System staps work well in supporting the ENO Hammocks. Unlike ENO's SlapStrap Pro straps, the Atlas straps do not have much stretch and, once set, do not require much, if any, readjustment for the ENO double hammock I use. The multiple loops on each strap make adjusment easy. Since I already have the SlapStraps, I now use these to rig the rain fly and mosquito neting over the hammock as stretch from their weight is not such an issue as with the hammock itself.
Must have 4 hammocks over using paracod
I bought these after using paracord to set up my hammock and these take about 1min to set-up including hooking your hammock up. The adjustment loops really save more time for adjustments.
I have used these on car doors beams and roof racks when securing my hammock on weekend camping.
You can even use the bottom ends of the loops to hang more kit off under the hammock when using your walking/ski poles.
The package size is small and light.
Would have given 5 stars!
First I have to say that the ENO hammock system is the most comfortable thing I have experienced. I love it. However, one of the loops tore on my second use while backpacking for 2 weeks. Fortunately, one of the best features of this item is the amount of loops, so I was okay. I'm taking back to REI to exchange and hope to enjoy for a long time.
Great product, lightweight, easy to pack and most of all, it is pure bliss!
