"When the Eagles Nest DoubleNest Hammock isn't hanging out in my backyard, I take it on all my spring and summer camping trips. The DoubleNest is way more comfortable than lying in a tent, and super easy to set up. I definitely recommend the insect screen though. Bugs suck."
"Earlier this summer I went on a bachelor party camping trip, and though it was great time, our group of 8 were heavily burdened by the tents we were taking. No Hubba Hubbas here. I'm talking large 6-man domes that were so old that we needed to bring extra blue tarps in case of inclement weather. Granted, we could've saved ourselves some trouble by not insisting that we bring three, but carrying just one of those beasts for a few miles will turn your arms to rubber. It was on the hike back to the cars that I decided to invest in ENO. My next trip was completely different.
The Eagles Nest Outfitters double-nest with slap-straps and fast-fly rainshield are awesome. I also have the mosquito net, though I haven't had to use it yet. All the pieces together weigh about 5 lbs, and everything is phenomenally compressible so I was able to fit and/or lash everything to my pack. NO RUBBER ARMS! Setup is as easy as finding two trees, and the slap straps provide extra feet to allow more options for lashing up the hammock. The Double Nest is really big enough for two, but you have to really like each other (really). The rain fly provides great cover and since the hammock is off the ground, there is plenty of dry ground underneath the fly for cooking or storing your pack. Get the ENO system and never worry about helping people carry their dumb tents again."

I have had this thing since June of 2012 and I use it anytime I possibly can. You know why? because it is awesome!! Take it hiking to just chill in, overnight hikes to avoid sleeping on the ground with a sleeping pad or having to deal with a tent, can fit two people in it but unless you are REALLY comfortable with that person than you'll change your mind. Having a double nest though gives you more room for you though and is pretty easy to fit a sleeping bag in it and can be set up pretty fast, for best sleeping though try to get the hammock as taunt as possible, just makes it much more comfortable. Also the stuff bag is great for storing headlamps, phones, knives, whatever you carry around with you. I sleep better in my hammock than I do my own bed, and while working at a summer camp I slept in it nearly every night. Really bonded with this thing. If you use it for overnights be wise and make sure you are covered. You can either shell out the money to buy the rain fly which is nice to have or if you don't have the money to get both use a tarp, I use a 10x10 and works great. I have been really rough with mine so it shows some but even if it gets dirty you can wash it, no big deal. All together don't waste money on a brand new mattress, just get a hammock! Only downside I can ever think of with this thing is that making yourself get up and going for the day when your in one is super tough just because you'll never want to get out.
I had been eyeing up a hammock for a while now. Unfortunately I have been displaced for work and now live in the awful concrete jungle that is Chicago. After passing a park near my house recently I saw a dude cozy in his hammock in the trees. I couldnt resist any longer so I came home and purchased my ENO with the Slap Straps. The second it came in I ran to the park to test it out. It took me literally 2 minutes to set this bad boy up. You wrap those straps around a tree and hook your hammock in and you are set son. I got the double nest because I heard the extra fabric is nice when you want to wrap it around you (or if I ever find a cute boy to snuggle with). I put my nalgene in the little pouch and slung it over me and it wrapped me up like a little cocoon and didn't move for hours. You will draw a lot of stares by city dwellers but dont worry, they are just jealous. I definitely recommend the double nest for the extra space. Even with my big ass (5'10" 175) I felt totally spacious in my ENO cocoon and the fabric seems like it could hold an elephant. The best part about this majestic nest is how small it packs, which is about the size of a small cantelope (I think?). Unfortunately I have not camped with it yet but I definitely plan on it. I can't wait to get back to Utah and find two baller trees to post up between. Buy this hammock. Now.
This hammock was bought as an impulse buy years ago at Bonnaroo. I immediately started snoozing in it everywhere. I keep it in the car with some slap straps, and it is has earned its keep. Since purchasing, I found that there are much better hammocks out there designed for camping, however I am still really pleased with this hammock, and I will still use it after buying a camping hammock.
It fits myself and a lady rather nicely, as long as some compromises are made for comfort. When solo, the extra fabric lets you lay diagnolly which is really comfy. My dog (golden retriever) also loves to jump up in and will spent the entire night passed out in comfort. The material is durable enough to fend off her death claws (no holes!) . It works awesome as a gear sling and bench seat at the crag... really clutch on sketchy belay stations .
Two things to note: The double packs away into a much bulkier package than the single, and takes up alot of pack space, so if you are looking for space saving, go single. Also, if you intend to sleep overnight with this hammock, be prepared. Sleeping bag insulation underneath you gets compressed, and airflow under the hammock will rob every last joule of body heat from you. This isn't an issue on warmer nights, but when the temp dips and the wind picks up, you need to take some measure to stay warm.
The ENO DoubleNest is excellent for all experience levels of hammockers, whether you're taking yours camping, throwing it up in the backyard, or partaking in some extreme group hanging.
Things I LOVE about this hammock:
1. It fits inside of itself! It's like a tiny puffy nylon jacket that can easily come on any lightweight backpacking trip - but surprise! That's not a jacket! That's a hammock!
2. The attached stuff sack doubles as a makeshift beer holder!
3. This hammock comes with aluminum wiregate carabiners. No need to buy your own!
4. They come in awesome colors.
5. Though I enjoy a good solo hammocking day, the double can comfortably accommodate two.
CONCLUSION: In the three years of owning my Doublenest, I've had zero buyers remorse.
NOTE: This hammock doesn't come with hanging straps, it would be wise to procure some webbing.
I love my hammock so much I hang it in my house when I am not camping. It's my second bed/couch/lounge/ swing set. This is one of my favorite items I have ever owned especially because of that rad rasta color! I also advise buying the pro slap straps for this hammock, so many selections on height and distance! I can also highly recommend you purchase the bug net; you can drape the extra fabric over yourself like a cocoon but you miss out on the stars and that's a major part of sleeping in a hammock. Be smart buy yourself this amazing hammock for many good times and buy the recommended accessories so you can show up being way more baller than any other camper around!
