very comfortable

This chair is very comfortalbe and cozy; the foot rest makes all the difference and allows you to rest your feet with your knees bent, or your legs stretched out long. It fits a wide range of figures and sizes, and can be set up at any height. It looks a bit complicated but it's really not; five minutes spent familiarizing yourself with the chair is about all you'll need. It's easy to set up and break down, and fits into a small bag for quick travel. There's a detachable pillow head rest and even a pouch on the side for a book or whatever. You can attach the chair to a porch ceiling or sturdy tree limb, or you can buy a stand for it (we went with a collapsible tripod stand so we can use it at campsites with no accessible tree limbs). If you're setting it up for long-term use in your yard or porch, I recommend buying a spring to hang between the ceiling and the chair; the spring makes it easier to get in and out of, and makes it a little more comfortalbe.
The chair is extremely well-built and durable--it even survived an entire southern Arizona summer because I forgot to bring it in--105 degree heat, 9-10 UV index, and violent monsoon thunder storms. I can't say enough good things about this chair--it's comfortable, durable, portable, and fun.

Love this thing!!!

I have only had the opportunity to use this in my backyard so far. I bought it to take camping, but I haven't made it out yet. This swing is extremely comfortable to sit in and fairly easy to get in and out of. It can be a little difficult to put back in the bag for storage, but this isn't a big problem because its always being used.

great chair..

I bought two of these for my porch, we use them almost daily.. Great reading chair and I often fall asleep just chillaxin. Considering taking them on the next hiking trip, but the weigh is an issue, but might be worth it..

Negative Reviews:

Shockingly poor quality

This is the only poor quality product I have ever purchased from REI. I am very easy on my purchases. This thing had a rivet snap off, and the foot holder easily ripped at the sew point. It appears sturdy, but is the single worst thing I have ever bought from REI. I actually installed a new rivet when the old one popped out, just planning to live with it. As I sat in the chair, the heavy strap tore loose at the foot holding area. I am not fat or heavy, and this thing should not pass any quality inspection.
I still bought two more items from REI last weekend, just stay away from this one.
