Really good tarp for the price

I just had this tarp on a canoe camping trip in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. It rained hard for 24 straight hours. If we had not had this tarp, we would have been stuck in tents or miserable all day. It kept our group and our gear dry. It's relatively light, and other than a few drips at the seam it's waterproof. You can get a lighter, nicer tarp, but only for a lot more money. For the price this is hard to beat.

Great shade or rain tarp

Every trip I take to the Boundary Waters I think "I should have gotten a nylon tarp for rain/shade shelter." This year I bit the bullet and purchased this item. It's a little heavy, but better than a poly tarp of similar size. It was durable, and provided an excellent communal area at the campsite for my whole group. Even though we didn't get much rain, it made great shade in the hot sun.

Needed product but missed a few stitches

ordered two. one had a poorly stitched center seam (machine missed its line) would have sent it back but needed it for a trip. It's holding up ok but I was a littled disappointed. In general your nylon flys are excellent.

I use them as vestibles for my Eureka Outfitter 6 since they do not make one for it.

Great tarp!

I bought this tarp as a camping hammock rain fly. It works very well. During a week long camping trip, my 10 foot hammock and I endured a heavy rain storm and the only thing that got wet was the anchor lines tied to the trees.
It is well constructed and very durable.

Good dining tarp

This makes a good dining tarp using two poles or over a rope stretched between two trees. The nylon is lightweight (about the same weight as my backpacking tent fly) and seems to have an extra thick coating of polyurethane. Backpackers might want a little smaller size than this one.

Great for the Group

Bought this for use on Boy Scout backpacking trips. A touch heavy, but not when considering its size, and when compared to other types of flys. Plenty of grommets so can be pitched in multiple ways.

Great for backpacking

I use this in place of a tent. All you need is a length of rope and some stakes and you can make a wide variety of shelters.

The perfect hammock cover

I would like to have see more grommets to allow securing the ends of the canopy, otherwise, it served it's purpose well.

well made

works great with my hennessy hammock ,and it covers a lot of space so my camping area is much larger

Great rain fly

Seam sealed the seams and this rain fly performed admirably in a long and strong Boundary Waters down pour.

Negative Reviews:

Badly Sewn

A generally well made Tarp. Good material, good reinforced metal grommets, but manufactured with poor quality control. I found about 12" of one of the two lines of stitching on the center seam was not properly sewn. I will have to repair this before I can use the tarp. For this reason I cannot recommend this product.

Neutral Reviews:

Good but not perfect....

Not bad but a little on the heavy side, seams need to be sealed as they will leak. When wet fabric stretches a lot more then I thought it would. Personally I like the Noah tarp better but wish that tarp was in a square shape. For the money this is not a bad tarp but get some seam sealer.

Looks like it will do the trick.

Plan to use it as a rain tarp on kayaking trips.
