Always looking to push the limits of ergonomic design, Ergon doesn't disappoint with the new CF3 Pro Carbon Seatpost. The core feature of this innovative design is flex suspension technology. The heart of the design centers on two parallel carbon flat springs and two bearings in the seatpost that allow it to stay parallel to the ground through the travel motion. The functionality is simple: A bump through the bike pushes the bike upwards, the seatpost then responds and flexes in the opposite direction, neutralizing the bump. Unlike traditional suspension post designs, the CF3 Pro Carbon maintains a direct road bike feel that won't compromise your pedaling power.
A perfect complement to today's ultra-still road frames, the CF3 Pro Carbon is maintenance free, offers simple setback and saddle angle adjustment, and weighs in at about 220g.
When something is "award-winning" our heads turn. When something wins an award at Eurobike, we take a closer look. Ergon's CF3 Pro Carbon Seatpost is a revolutionary design with head-turning aesthetics that aren't just for looks. It took over a year of legal logistics to import them into the US, but they are finally here.
The CF3 is specifically designed as a lightweight, yet stiff seatpost that works in tandem with today's ultra-stiff road frames. Viewed from the front, it looks like any other carbon seatpost. However, when you look at it from the side, it appears split into two pieces. This intriguing design is essentially two separate pieces of carbon fiber that are joined by the saddle clamp. They function as leaf springs to absorb road buzz and bumps. Because ultra-stiff carbon frames are not always the softest rides on rough roads, Ergon developed the CF3 Pro to interface between the rider and their bike.
The saddle rotates in an arc as it is moved fore and aft, yet the pivots at the head ensure that the saddle remains constantly level. Subsequently, making micro adjustments to your position is easier and you won't have to fight the seatpost clamp to keep your saddle level.
The CF3 Pro Carbon weighs in at 220grams. It has a 220lb rider limit and is not suggested for mountain bike use. It is 27.2mm by 330mm and comes in two seat clamp styles: One for 7 x 7mm round rails and one for 7 x 9.6mm oval rails.
