Esbit Solid Fuel Stove & Cookset Review:

Just what I've been looking for.

I bought this stove for my bug-out bag. Great size cup over 16 oz if you want. I could fit almost a whole box if fuel cubes inside for carrying. If you're a person on a "stealthy hunt" this will not be for you unless you put some paper towels or small cloth inside to keep the cover from rattling, but it didn't bother me. Mesh storage bag is nice. I tried it on a windy day. Esbit fuel cubes light easily with a match or lighter (fuel cube will not light with a metal match or sparker even if you crumble it on the top) and 1 cube had the full pint of water just shy of boiling in about 10 minutes. Water did not come to a boil but well hot enough for a couple of hot drinks or rehyrating a meal or two. The pour spout on the side was adequate, as anything larger would have let the heat escape too much. Also keep the lid handle up as the lid gets super hot. Folding pot handles worked great.
