Eureka 6 ft. Nested Aluminum Backpacker Upright Pole Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

Good poles but a little over priced.

These poles work well for hanging a tarp. Its true, their tips do not fit standard grommets but if you use screw down type tarp clamps on your tarp they will provide a hole which will fit the tips. Using clamps protects your tarp from strong wind gusts by breaking free instead of tearing up the tarp. Tarp clamps are available in the automotive department at . If you aren't concerned about weight, two standard 10 inch steel tent spikes (the kind that look like a big nail) will nest inside each of these poles. That gives you a safer way to carry the spikes in your tarp kit without the worry of them poking a hole in it.

No other pole like this.

I didn't like the pole that came with my Black Diamond Megamid. It is too long and too heavy. I was looking for a suitable replacement. This one does not have the adjustability of the Black Diamond one but it is lighter and fits in a shorter pack. This is exactly what I was looking for. I first used one like this on a group backpacking trip in Boy Scouts 40 years ago to hold up our kitchen tarps. I am so glad these are still available.

This pole works great for a tarp tent

I used this pole recently on a 5-day canoe trip. It was the main pole for my pyramidal tarp tent. It's light, the poles nest together nicely, and it's strong. The poles came with a plastic end cap, which serves to hold the set together when nested, and makes a great base when the pole is assembled. The pointed end of the pole fits through grommet holes on tarps, afterwhich a guy line can be attached and staked out.

works great for tarp

Bought a pair of these for an 8x10 tarp, intending to use them for the front corners and anchor the rear corners to trees at the campsite. Work perfectly as planned. These are great poles, much lighter and shorter than the common extendable/adjustable steel poles. Would be nice if they broke down into more nesting sections so the packed size was shorter. GREAT VALUE.

Great product. Use often.

These are great. So compact that they are easy to keep right with my tarp. One tree and 3 poles, I can set up my tarp anywhere. Rain or shade, you name it, my tarps are ready to go with these compact poles.

got what I wanted

I needed 6 ft tent poles to rig a tarp over a 5+ft tent which doesn't have a rain fly. It held up in high winds at a campsite below Mt.Rogers.

practical, lightweight nesting poles

Purchased 11 1/2 x 11 1/2 tarp from Campmor which came w/own pole set; luckily since these poles don't fit the grommet holes in tarp.

sturdy lightweight pole system

Also purchased 11.5 x 11.5 dining canopy. Grommets didn't fit tips of these poles.

It's Okay

Nothing really special about it & it's very limited to use (functionally fixed)
