The Timberline SQ Outfitter 6 tent from Eureka sleeps 6, has 2 doors and is a classic tent updated with the latest in frame technology. The Timberline series has been famous for years as the Scout's tent of choice, Why? Because of ease of set up, durability and reliability. Well Eureka just made it better with a stronger and easier to set up aluminum frame set. The frame is so tough that Eureka began to compare it to the strength and durability of the giant Sequoia tree and the name stuck (SQ). A stronger, thicker ridge pole and the SQ frame's spreader pole not only increase overall frame strength but adds more usable square footage to the interior of the tent. Improved ventilation with the addition of 2 generous roof vents mean long humid tent nights will be much more comfortable than in the past. In addition Eureka has lengthened the side of the fly for even more coverage and added vestibule wings to the front of the tent to protect the door from weather. Some of the good old parts remain like the use of RipStop materials for strength and worry free use. This is a classic tent and it just got better.

The Eureka Timberline SQ Outfitter 6 Tent features robust 13mm and 14.5mm DA17 frame, along with the 8mm Pressfit spreader pole, provide the framework to support this large tent.

Positive Reviews:

7 nights in this tent

We just used our tent for the first time..went up about like our old Timberline (replaced after 16 years). Night 1 rained hard from about 7pm all night until about 8:30am. Tent did great. Day 3-5 winds about 25 to 30 mph..also did great. The biggest reason we purchased a new tent was because we could not get a replacement rain fly for our old tent and because we are ageing and we needed more height. The only think I am not happy about this tent is the vestibule is only about 4ft high. I cannot believe that Eureka would make a tent 6 ft center height and a vestibule 4 ft high??? We are working out something to make it easy to get into the tent.

Great family Tent!

We just received this tent from "Santa" for Christmas, and it's been set up in our basement ever since. We have three young boys, and this tent is going to be a great family tent. It's super easy to set up, very similar to my older Timberline tent. Due to the size, it's weight and footprint don't make it conducive to true backpacking, but great for backyard camping, car camping and shorter walks into the woods. This is a very spacious tent, I'm 6' tall and can easily stand up in this tent. Although we haven't used it outdoors yet, I am confident that the quality of the tent will hold true to previous product experiences I've had with Eureka products.

Upgraded from Timberline 4

We have used (two) Eureka Timberline 4 man tent for 30+ years and it was time to replace, so we decided to upgrade to an Outfitters edition per advise from a friend. We also upgraded to a six person SQ (sequoia). Used for the first time last weekend in heavy thunderstorms and this tent was roomy and dry. Loved being able to stand up, great zipper system, easy for two people to set up and put down. One item to note: requires at least one person to be on the taller side in order to reach the midsection to set up the cross pool of the tent (this is the pole that creates the wide of the headroom).

Tried and True Design

I've been using the Timberline 6 tent for many years now with groups of students that travel out west. We currently own 7 of these. I'm not overly crazy about the design of the new fly, there's "extensions" that cover part of the doors, but I've found wind tends to catch there and keeping it down tends to be a slight problem. Overall though, we're extremely happy with the tent and it's never let us down in the most challenging of conditions.

Bomb Proof

I've used this tent for over 10 years. it's used as a basecamp for mountain biking, skiing and hunting. The tent has held up in extreme weather with the use of the guylines, 50-70 mph winds, torrential rain, and 12" of snow. It's a heavy tent, but the floor takes a lot of abuse and has had no issues.

Best tent ever!!

Was camping in Big Bend Nat. Park in 2010 and we went thru a wind storm in late April, wind came thru the camp grounds at 50 to 70 mph for about 20 minutes. Our Timberline was the only one still standing,4 other tents went sailing with their sleepingbags still in them.

Large and Heavy Duty

Top quality throughout with a slight change in the poles from the earlier style. #10 zippers are heavy duty and constructed for years of service. Holds up well to wind and rain with external loops to secure the fly with additional lines. Heavy duty construction without heavy weight.

Eureka makes great tents!

Camped for 12 days on National Forest Service campsite. Easy set up/take down. Roomy with 2 doors and tall head space both an added bonus. Adjustable tie downs worked great in tight campsite. Extended fly gave plenty of room for extra shoes to keep dirt out of tent.

An upgrade of a great tent

Had a 1984 version of this tent that I used for many years with my kids as we traveled around the country. That tent served us well. This tent is an improved model that I expect my grandchildren will spend many night in during their adventures.

Great product but .......

The instructions that came with the tent were for the old style SQ 6 tent. The parts did not match up. Had to go to the Internet to find proper instructions. Tent was easy to erect.

Negative Reviews:

Not like your trusty old Timberline

The new tent-to-poles connectors at the top ends of the tent are very difficult to connect and put extremely heavy stress pull on the tent. The new design of the front and back windows no longer allows top down unzip to screen only so you can't look out a window as with earlier versions of the Timberline. Very dissappointing.
