Evolv Defy Lace Reviews:

Great "Beginner/Intermediate" shoes.

Super comfortable shoe! Does not cramp toes like the higher end shoes do. I only use this shoe for indoor but it suits my needs while keeping me comfortable all day. I heard that these stink but i've only worn them 3 time and i can start to get a scent of shoes that smell like lit matches. i don't really mind it too much, as long as they're comfortable. i wear them barefoot and chalk my feet before i put them on and they seem to stay dry but i can't really tell. all in all if you're starting out and you plan to do only indoor climbing or bouldering these are perfect for the price.

GREAT shoe for beginners!

Awesome shoe! I've been climbing for about 3 months now and got them after about 2 months of using rentals. I'm on V0-1's and 5.7-8's with them. Super comfortable and fit snug against my foot/no slipping what-so-ever. My feet always feel secure and the rubber grips great.

Haven't gone on anything outdoors in them, but for indoor use they are amazing! The lace-up aspect is also awesome. I'm about a 7.5/8 in normal shoes and surprisingly fit an 8 in this climbing shoe (and it fits very snug).

Overall a fantastic shoe and I love climbing in 'em! :) Thank you, Evolv!!

Great! Totally Recommend!

I use these shoes mostly indoor, though occasionally outside on schist and granite. The sticky rubber along with the flexible shoe makes this great for smearing and any and all face climbs. The laces are great for adjusting the fit for a long day at the crag. Like all Defy shoes, though, they do stink after a while, so make sure you buy some deodorizing stuff. Man, I really thought Evolv would deal with the smell issue after the last ones. Oh well, I would rather climb well than smell good, and these shoes help with just that.

Anyone that's worn a climbing shoe can understand that it could be hard to write a review on the comfort of them. I ordered a size up from what I normally wear. Wanted a shoe that wouldn't dye my feet different colors. Good sticky rubber and nice edging. Good climbing shoe for the money.

great beginner shoes

great first climbing shoe tight at first but 20 climbs later and comfortable. My girl got the same shoe in guy small size and loves them as well. great for the first pair.

Solid shoes

A pretty solid pair of rock shoes. Break in very quickly, esp. for synthetics. Not as flexible as I'd like but it'll come with time, hopefully.

Comfortable ... for climbing shoes

Comfortable, as far as rock climbing shoes go. I tried on a lot of shoes, and these worked best for my feet.
