Best Shirts I have ever owned
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I own 7 of these shirts. I also own similar shirts made by REI, North Face & Columbia etc. I like this style of shirt. The Ex Officio Air Strip Lite beats all others hands down. They are the lightest, most comfortable shirts I own. I have worn them on 5 continents, for work and play. My work days - outdoors - often last 20 hours or more in high humidity. In an this shirt I am comfortable all day, even when sweating like a horse. The don't develop odor, wick stupendously, and dry in a flash. Easy to wash in a hand basin, and just hang them up to dry and they look great. I tried the other brands because they were cheaper - now I use them for gardening & any work that might ruin them. Once I tried this shirt I was hooked. I have regularly been wearing some for over 4 years and they look almost new! The fabric seems indestructible. I keep my eye out for sales, as these are pricey shirts. However, make no mistake, they are worth every penny. They are simply the best shirt I have ever owned - by far. I don't write reviews as a habit. and am in no way connected to this manufacturer or to REI (apart from being a member.) | |

| I have always been sensitive to heat and sun and my lifestyle keeps me outdoors often. This year I was part of an event in the Palm Springs desert during July. I needed clothing that would protect me for long hours in 115 degree heat. I purchased the garment and wore it during the event in the desert. Nothing would have prepared me for the surprise that a long sleave white shirt could be incredibly cooler than anything else I own. I spent 12 hours in 110+ degree heat and I didn't burn or become heat exhausted. The material breathed like it was made of mesh. Naturally I was sweating but the shirt pulled the sweat off my body and allowed me to stay relitively dry. The color reflected most of the suns rays and I finished the day with enough energy to enjoy the night life in Ranco Mirage. I was looking for hot weather clothing all over and I was unhappy with what was out there untill I found this shirt. This garment satisfied all my needs perfectly. | |

| I am an attorney and make my living as an itinerant speaker. I travel all over the country giving seminars. The biggest problem I encounter is luggage. I'm a huge fan of [@]onebag[@] and traveling light. I first encountered Ex Officio products at the SeaTac airport. I was taken by the product but deterred by the price.I'm an REI member and it put this shirt on sale. I bought two shirts.Verdict: This shirt is truly amazing. It is comfortable and stylish. It breathes. On a recent trip, I wore it 14 days in a row. I washed it in the hotel sink and it dried in 4 hours. I put it on. No ironing. It looks great.I would unhesitatingly recommend this shirt to anyone who travels and can get away with casual dress. An absolutely wonderful product to those of us in the less-is-more community. | |

Great Shirt-But I Won't Give It To You

The Air Strip Lite Long-Sleeve Shirt - Men's is a great town & country shirt. I took two of them to Spain for a month of back packing and I couldn't have wanted for a more versatile or functional shirt. UV protection and wicking power by day and a great "dress up" shirt for an evening out on the town. One of the shirts was white and I even wore a tie with it to a restaurant one evening. I wore those two shirts almost everyday by alternating them. The quick dry feature made it easy to be hiking by day, get to a hotel and wash the shirt out in the sink and in 1-2 hours wear it out for the evening. I've asked for two more shirts for Christmas.

Got a couple of these shirts and took them to Delhi, India, where the heat was rannging between 40-45 degrees celcius (104-113 Fahrenheit). With these shirts I felt cool all the time, the side vents really helped, and there were no visible sweat marks. Every evening I would quickly wash the shirt in the sink and hang to dry on a hanger. Couple of hours later, shirt was ready to go again! Though a bit expensive, when you travel a lot they are really worth every penny! Easy to wear, easy to wash and wrinkle-free!! I now have 5 shirts, and if there were more colors available (like black, yellow, khaki etc). I would surely buy some more. Very highly recommended.

Fabulous Shirts | |

| The Ex Officio shirts are fantastic: I've owned them for many years, and they're my favorite shirts. The fabric, despite being synthetic, feels soft and cool against the skin. In my experience, it's much more comfortable than fabrics used by competitors which often feel sticky. It dries quickly, with minimal wrinkles, which is great for traveling. The zipper security pocket is great for items you can't afford to lose such as a cell phone, airline tickets, or passport. I own similar shirts by Columbia, Moose Creek, and others, but the Ex Officio are clearly the best. I've been wearing my oldest Ex Officio shirts for 6 or 7 years, and they're still holding up well. | |

A shirt you will keep forever

| Very expensive, but worth every penny. I got one of these a couple of years back to go hiking thru Yosemite. It is so light and breathable, that even though the days were in the 80s-90's, I wore it in the long sleeve fashion (not rolled-up) on two days of 6+ hour strenuous --- I opted for the long sleeves instead of putting on a combination of suntan lotion and bug-spray. I have used the shirt many times since. It is something that is so light and wrinkle-proof, that it is perfect to throw in a daypack for the beach or whatever. This is a shirt you'll have for life. | |

Cool, light and refreshing

| Great comfortable shirt. I use it for hiking, biking, kayaking and dancing. The shirt is extremely light and durable with good protection against the sun. I live in Phoenix so we have a lot of outdoor activities, and at night I wear it like a jacket over a nice T shirt when I go dancing Argentine tango, salsa, hustle or ballroom. There are mesh vents on the shoulders and around the waist, and it never seem to get hot. If you don't notice it in Phoenix summers then it is great. The sleeves are a little short, but I always have them rolled up anyway. | |

excellent shirt | |

| I wore the shirt to an outdoor music fest in Atlanta this past weekend and it was hot and humid. Shirt did everything expected. Wicked the sweat away, protected me from the sun, dried quickly, and when a breeze finally kicked up, it felt great. Only complaint I have is that I have long arms and the shirt is a little short with the sleeves rolled down. They may make a tall in this, but I never checked that out. You may want to if this is an issue for you | |

Good shirt, sizes run large
| Rating: | ![]() |
I usually wear a medium, but Ex Officio's sizes seem to run large. I ended up sending it back, and buying in the small size from a store where I could try it on. I also switched to light green, which is more opaque than the white was. The shirt is very light, well vented, and comfortable.

Definitely not worth the money

| I purchased this shirt for travel in Europe and Russia where I wanted to travel light and wash my clothes out as needed. The aspect of this shirt that I like best is that it has a hidden breast pocket for my passport. It also dries quickly. But, that is not enough to compensate for the design flaws in this shirt. The fabric doesn't breathe and even with all the vents, it is hot to wear even in cool weather. Worse is that the fabric really retains odor. This is a bad combination of qualities! I am ditching this in favor of a cotton shirt with treated fabric, for 1/3 the cost. | |

| Small men...Don't get this shirt if you've got an adult's arms. the sleeves are way too short, and that about ruins the quality of the shirt. | |

I just purchased this shirt because my dad had one, and I liked the features, but a few days after I bought from the online store, I saw it at the REI anniversary sale for a much lower cost. Overall loaded with features, and awesome when hiking/trekking at elevation and the weather kicks up a little bit. The SPF is a bonus, and the triple fold collar helps prevent redneck.
