I wish I'd bought more!

I was hesitant about purchasing wicking underwear for hiking and backpacking because I was concerned about certain problems women can have if they don't wear cotton crotch underwear (you know what I'm talking about, ladies). But I was looking for something quick drying and I grabbed a couple of pairs of these on sale. First of all, I usually wear a medium in underwear and I needed a large in these. But so far that's the only fault. I love the deep colors, they are comfy and stay in place all day (even when carrying a heavy pack and climbing over logs), they stay totally dry and do an amazing job of stopping/blocking odor. Best of all, I didn't have any of the problems I feared. I just wish I had bought more on sale.

I gave them 4 stars because they run smaller than expected. If my little rear doesn't fit in a medium, I imagine those with a fuller bottom will have trouble finding a size that fits in these.

The best sexy/comfy combo ever! I had to return my large tho for a medium as the back is higher and looser than my other large "low rise bikini" that I usually wear. I absolutely LOVE the patagonia barely bikini ones (have white and black) but these are going to be right up there. Since they run big and are SUPER stretchy go down if your in between sizes and they'll be perfect!

Performance never looked this good

I have three pairs of this underwear and I love them all. They are sexy, feel great, and wash/dry easily. I wear them for everyday use. I haven't really noticed one way or another how they do for heavy workouts, but I barely notice them, they're so comfortable. I feel like they are true to size - I wear 4-6 in pants and I wear a small in underwear.
Michelle at Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS) on 11/11/2012

Lace already ripped

These are good travel underwear. I took two of them on a recent trip to Spain and they dry in just a few hours. Also they manage moisture better - after a hot day in cotton undies there is *ahem* odor issues but not with these.

Only con would be that on one pair the lace waistband is already a little ripped.

Worth every cent

If you have sensitive skin and are looking for a cool, non-irritating, non-wedgie-ing, cute pair of underwear, you have FOUND it! I am replacing all of my underwear with these. I've been jealous of my husband's Ex Officio boxers for a long time and finally realized that I could be just as comfy as he is.

If you are looking for quick-drying, cool and comfortable underwear, look no further. These bikinis are great for those with an active lifestyle. I have worn other styles of ExOfficio bikinis, but this was my first lacy pair. They did not disappoint and they are much sexier than my other sports underwear!

I can't imagine going backpacking without these. Completely worth it. Don't bother with anything else - I tried several brands and nothing could compare. They run very true to size, if anything, I would say a touch big. I wear a size 4-6 and a small was perfect.

exOlent exOfficios

exOfficio is a GREAT brand. I bought my first pair of these panties a few years ago and they're still going strong. I've tossed all the rest and ONLY wear this brand. They look and feel great, wash well and dry quickly - especially when you're traveling.

Went on a backpacking trip last weekend. Picked up two pair of exofficio lacy lus before hitting the road. Wore a pair and washed a pair every day. Felt fresh & flirty the whole time. Lacy lus are a great complement to any woman enjoying the outdoors!

favorite underwear

Great fit, quick drying, stay in place, wash easily, do not show panty line through pants, unbelievably comfortable, AND cute. Easily my favorite underwear ever, for work or play.
Just wish they didn't cost so much. Look for them on sale, definitely worth purchasing!

Negative Reviews:

Fits different than similar ex officio

I've recently been on a quest to find great undies. I'm 5'6", 124 lbs, and have found the S to fit well in both the Ex Officio lacy lu bikini and the string bikini. I don't have what anyone would call a "booty", but the S in these low rise bikinis ride up and the wedgie effect is not comfortable! Other major drawback is that a pantiliner will not stick, though on the string bikini it wasn't an issue - go figure?! These ones were returned, and the others will go into regular rotation, though I'm still looking for the 'ultimate' undies - IB merino or Patagonia barely bikinis maybe?
clepore at REI on 02/02/2012

Lace pretty, but not comfy!

I bought 2 pairs of these panties for a month-long trip to New Zealand. They fit great! However, when I had my backpack on, the lace would press against my skin and leave a very uncomfortable mark! Also, although the undies themselves dried VERY rapidly, the lace would stay wet for another couple of hours! I really like the idea of some feminine performance underwear, but unfortunately, the lace, (which is the cutest part!) falls short on the "performance" part. I really put them to the test, and hope this review is helpful. I'll stick with the Ex-Officio undies without the pretty lace. : (

Pretty but not for me

I am 5'9" and 160lbs. I needed some quick-dry undies for backpacking and tried out three varieties: Patagonia Barely Bikini (L), ExOfficio Give-N-Go Lacy Low Rise Bikini (L) and ExOfficio Give-N-Go Bikini (L). I liked the Patagonia best. The lacy low rise are pretty but they wedge and will be returned; the other ExOfficio is worth keeping but the fit and material are just not as nice as the Patagonia. Though both manage moisture well and dry overnight, the Patagonia is softer and stretches better.
Regina at REI on 08/08/2011
I think fast drying is an overreaching claim for these under ware. Save your money and buy regular non-cotton undies which dry just as quick. Also the fit of these are not great and after only a couple wares they look like I have been wearing them for 10 years.

Passed sniff test, but won't stay put

I REALLY wanted to love these! My boyfriend was going on and on about these, only in boxer briefs for men, so after reading all the reviews, I thought I'd give it a shot.

I should have known better than to buy the bikini style...bikinis NEVER work on me...I am not big, but have VERY curvy hips, and bikinis just never look right. It's almost like with curvy hips, they just don't know where to sit. Do they ride high? Do they stay low? Neither I, nor the undies, could figure it out. Some hikes they would be totally fine, but others my backpack (both day hike and backpacking backpack)would cause them to ride up and pull.

I'm going to try again in the (horribly ugly) granny fannies, the full cover ones. YUCK! But if they don't ride and are comfortable, style won't matter. Also ordered the boxer briefs. I'll give those a go too. I'll probably relegate these lace bikini ones to regular around town wear, as it's really only when a backpack is in the situation that there are problems.

So now, for the pros, and why I'm willing to give other cuts another go in this same brand.

1) Sniff Test: PASS! With flying colors!!! At the end of LONG days backpacking in hot weather, after they were totally wet from sweat, they had no trace of foul smell. Sorry to get this graphic, but before using these undies, by the 3rd or 4th day backpacking, my hiking pants would start collecting all those days of sweat and normal female odors, and...it wasn't pretty. With these undies, this has ceased to be part of my backpacking experience.

Also, they dry fabulously. I wash a pair at the end of the day, hang on a tree to dry overnight, and soon enough, they're dry as a bone. One night that rained all night, the crotch was still a little damp in the am, but I just put them in the morning sun for a bit and voila, done.

So, I will give my new cuts a go when they arrive, and hope one of them works for my shape!

Falls short of expectations

I was so excited to see technical underwear that was actually cute! However, when I used them, they were fine except for three major flaws:

1) The fabric was not reinforced in important areas (if you know what I mean).
2) Pads (and even pantiliners) wouldn't stick to the fabric.
3) The fabric tears really easily.

I felt like these had great potential but were impractical for certain times of the month.
Yammy at REI on 12/12/2011

product is awesome with the slight exception that the undergarments seem to "crawl" and not stay put - not something I would expect from brand new panties that are the correct size. If I had wanted a thong I would have purchased one! Otherwise I love the product. Black is my favorite, but the red is nice too - it is almost a maroon color.
whlsofjstc at Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS) on 01/01/2012
Does not cover the behind. I am athletic and have a smaller backside. I can only wear these with certain clothes due to this issue. Otherwise, fabric is great for wicking. I have the briefs and the backside coverage is much better. These bikinis seem to run smaller than usual. They are very nice looking.
Anonymous - customer at Zappos.com on 04/05/2012

Not same size as briefs

I love the briefs so tried the lace. Sizing is not the same as briefs (larger than briefs). Not as comfortable.
