Exped DownMat Lite 5 Air Pad with MiniPump Reviews:

Totally cushy. Top 3 comfort item.

I've used a closed cell ultralight (but bulky) pad for years and supplemented it with a cheap, heavy but effective inflatable. The Exped changed the game. Warm, comfortable, easy to use. It lets me run a lighter summer bag in the shoulder seasons. I'm to the point in life where if I can get a good nights sleep, I can survive anything on the trail. I can never go back. I will be interested to see how durable the product is. It appears to be pretty solid but I will be treating it much gentler than my zlite i.e. not sitting on it around fire or drying off on it by the creek or sharing it with my dog. Small price to pay for extreme comfort. Love the slightly larger side tubes to keep you from rolling off. More "skid-resistant" than I expected in that sleeping bag doesn't slide to the bottom. Initially, it seems like it will take forever to inflate with included pump but then, all of a sudden, its inflated and done! Also, it actually fits in the included stuff bag.

Great Product All Around

This is a great pad for 3 and 4 season backpacking trips. It packs down to a really nice, manageable pouch, and the foam pump is a brilliant solution for fast inflation. It holds air very well; my longest continuous use is two nights on one inflation, and I doubt it lost any air at all. In snow/ice camping situations your greatest pressure point might get a little cool through the night, but for the weight and price you'd have a hard time finding something better. Only other con is that it can slip around a bit at night, but if you're looking for a minimalist pad that's warm and comfortable, you can't go wrong with this.

Comfy pad

I appreciate small and light for backpacking and have used a 1.5inch lite core mummy pad but im never really comfortable as I move around a lot. i'm 6ft, 190.
This solved that issue. I bought the large. It packs to same small size and weight as my mummy lite core but gives me full width and length comfort.
pumping it up is easy with hand pump. It held full air all night and you wont roll off this wide pad.
Very warm too. Now I just hope it holds up over long use and doesn't pop on an extended trip. it does come with repair kit so that gives me some piece of mind.

Excellent for the price

Overall the mat is very comfortable for me. I am 6' tall and weight 195 lbs. It's just barely big enough for my frame but I don't seem to slip off of it thanks to the larger air cells on the edges. The mini pump is easy enough to use although for speed the schnozzle is what you want to use for all EXPED mats. The only minor issue is there is no dedicate deflating valve as on other EXPED mats. For the price though I am very satisfied.
