The Exped Women's Lightning 60 Backpack lets your stuff have some breathing room when heading out for a weekend adventure in your tent. Other than being around an inch bigger in every direction than the Lightning 45, the Lightning 60 is essentially the same pack, down to the maximum carrying capacity. Both packs use a single aluminum stay to keep the pack weight incredibly low without compromising outstanding load contact and control. If it's space you desire, then look no further than the Lightning 60.
The T-Rex suspension consists of a single, adjustable aluminum stay that offers an outstanding strength-to-weight ratio; your pack stays strong under a full load of 53 pounds, and your body doesn't ache from the minimalist-oriented 2lb, 9oz weight of the empty pack. Whether you played guard for your college basketball team or were a gymnast, the adjustable back length ranges from 16.5 inches to 22.5 inches, letting you customize the fit for maximum comfort. The dual-density foam hipbelt quickly molds to fit your body, and the padded shoulder straps turns toting loads into pure pleasure. Roll-top access makes it easy to cram gear into the bottom corners of the pack, and seals up like a dry bag to keep your stuff safe from the weather. A top access zipped pocket holds your hydration bladder, as well as keeping trail essentials easy to reach.
Two elastane stretch pockets on the sides hold your water bottles or long-limbed items like tent (or vampire-slaying) stakes. Two ice axe loops and two trekking pole loops let you hang your gear safely. Four base loops can be used to hold your rain coat, deflated sleeping pad, or bivy sack when the summer nights stay warm. M-style compression straps on each side snug down your stuff for a sleeker silhouette if trail skulking is part of your plan. A vertical compression strap on the top ensures the roll-top stays shut, squishes your gear from above, and does double-duty as a rope (or jacket) holder when compression isn't key.
The women’s specific Lightning 60 from Exped is made for moving light and comfortably during multi-day adventures. With a unique T-Rex frame, plush harness system, and streamlined shape, it does a great job of combing light weight, comfort, and solid load control.
Featherweight multitask pack with excellent motion control. The Exped Lightning Pack provides excellent ventilation, hydration compatibilty, great load transfer via the aluminum frame stay, all in a very light rolltop closure.
