It works

Purchased to inflate a Big Agnes sleeping pad. Was disappointed there was no adapter included ( or available from Exped). It will work with a cut off finger from a rubber glove, but that is a bit clunky and not ideal. I haven't been able to find any rubber tubing that will fit securely over both nozzles ( 5/8" to 3/4").

The pad does work very well as a pump, although cold weather makes the foam stiff and unusable as a pump. It did not work on a 15 degree trip.

As a pillow it is ok. I use a fleece jacket as a cover and to add thickness.

Exped pillow pump

I've been looking for a lightweight, comfortable pillow for a while. This goes perfect with my Exped SynMat UL.

"Compatible with Exped mats and mats from other brands."

But curiously enough, not compatible with Exped's older down air mattresses with the valves that stick out the top. I'd lost my conversion plug that went with my old air pump pillow (the valve on the inflation stuff sack failed after a couple of years), so I ordered a new one. To my surprise, neither opening coupled with the valves on my Exped air mattress and no conversion plugs are included.

No doubt a great product, but not backward compatible, so I'm assuming my expensive mattress is now obsolete, with no way to inflate it in a minimalist fashion.

Just OK.

I had watched the video's on this and was really excited about a pillow that packs small but would fill the pillow sleeve in my bag. It's defiantly small when packed but I was hopping it would be larger when inflated, I ended up stuffing some cloths in with it. I do like a over sized pillow at home also though so this is probably a personal thing.

I love the Exped Downmat 9 and Dreamwalker sleeping bag, so I had high hopes for the pillow pump. It inflates easily, but sleeping on it left my neck a bit stiff. It's better than nothing, but I think my jacket stuffed into a bag is more comfortable.
