F.Lli Pietta 1851 Navy .36 Caliber Revolver Spare Cylinder

I had thought about purchasing this cylinder for a long time but was hesitant when I read a couple of buyer reviews stating that it was thought the cylinder was too long for older Pietta's. As an experienced black powder pistol owner and shooter I would like to set the record straight on this. These cylinders are the exact specification for all Pietta made 1851 variants and fit perfectly in my MUCH older Pietta pistols whether they be brass frame or steel frame. If you are having trouble fitting one of these cylinders in your Pietta then most likely and probably more than anything there may be an issue with your pistol requiring some light gunsmithing. You have to remember that you are installing a brand new cylinder to what is usually an already broke in pistol and it will seem a little bit tight until you break the cylinder in by carefully cocking and uncocking (without dry firing) the cylinder for a few turns around. This was the case with my new cylinder as well and within a few minutes and a few turns it was a perfect fit. Potential buyers should know that these cylinders are intended for Pietta made pistols only and are not made to fit Colt pistols (or other makes) as they will indeed be too tight and long in a Colt pistol. If you are still worried about whether or not these will fit in your Pietta there's no need to worry as Cabella's will take back the cylinder with no problems or hassles of any kind. You will be hard pressed to find a quality cylinder complete with nipples for this price !!!

I debated buying this for I have asm and euroarms revolvers. The cylinder is to long and the timing notches are to small. After excessive filing it works good in my guns but it wasnt easy. Wouldnt recommended doing this unless you know what your doing.. Great cylinder looks good can't complain.

Cylinder was great, dropped right in and fit perfect in my Pietta '51 navy. Recently bought a parts kit for this gun and they're all good parts too! Thanks Cabelas!
