Fenwick Elite-Tech Walleye Spinning Rods Reviews:

I love to jig up Walleye, anywhere, but seem to really like Lake Erie in the Spring. Over the years, more than I care to attest to here, I have used many "jig" rods. A casting or vertically jigging Walleye rod should have a super fast tip and a medium-heavy to heavy action, and above all be made from 100% graphite, or as close to 100% as you can get. These type rods work best for me in 8' to 30' of water with jigs up to 1oz. The Elite-Tech rod in this review fits this description to a "T". Regardless which angler in my boat uses this rod, that individual will catch more Walleye than anyone else, regardless of their expertise and experience. These are delicate rods that need to be stored and handled properly. Take care on rods of this caliber to inspect the rod first for dings, etc. before purchase as it will surely break on the "ding" somewhere in the future. This rod is a "sleeper" due to it's pricing which is fair, as quality commands a price. This is a one piece rod, and at 6'3" takes up some space. Will Fenwick replace this rod if you should break it? Fenwick is a great company and have been fair to me in the past. I do not work for nor am I in any way I associated with Fenwick, just been using their rods for years, I have one over 40 years old. I have not detected any shortcomings in this rod, it has a beautiful finish, fine reel seat, with top quality guides. I have two of these rods now and highly recommend them for all of the above reasons.

Great for jigging!

I jig the Detroit and St. Clair River in MI and these are my "go to" jigging rods. During the spring run in the Detroit River it's not uncommon to catch 10-12lb and even up to 15lb Walleye. When your dealing with Walleye that size you need the gear to get the job done!
I teamed up my 6'3" M-XF Elite-Tech Walleye rods with Pflueger Supreme 8230MGX spinning reels (also from Cabela's) and couldn't be happier.

Excellent Walleye Rod

The Fenwick Elite series walleye rod is an outstanding rod. I have several GLoomis rods and a friend recommended the Fenwick rod series and it is on par.
Now, I have more Fenwick rods than GLoomis. I broke a rod during my Canadian fishing trip and within days a new rod was shipped from the Iowa headquarters. Great warranty and in the future I"ll buy additional Fenwicks.

Only Jigging Rods I Own

Fenwick has been the leader for jigging rod technology for quite some time, and it really comes through in these Elite Tech rods. Super sensitive blanks matched with the T.A.C. handle technology makes these things top of the class. They are also available in several very popular lengths and actions, to help fine tune your presentations and techniques.
