Perfect entry level safe

Just picked one up when Dick's put item on sale & so far I'm loving it. Product is new to Dick's; been out 2-3 weeks. Yes it is on the small side; and yes the center divider is screwed into place, thus preventing storage of a 8.5x11 document on it's side. But still have option to store documents in a vertical storage position. But main purpose for me is to store rifle, shotgun, and a pistol in safe location away from children. It was a plus that has 30 minute fire rating. This appears to be built by stack on as card in box has contact info. for stack on for recovery of lock combination if you need to get replacement. But for the person who wants an inexpensive option to store a few guns & ammo, this is worth a look.

Lock - the unit feels smooth and opened on first attempt with factory combination. Repeat attempts were also flawless.

Feel - with the addition of the fireboard on inside, it feels a lot stronger than the (I believe) 14 gauge steel it's made of. Weighs around 250 lbs and took two of us to move. Shelves feel like will support fair amount of weight; but have not given it the test of putting a full case of 40 cal 185g bullets on a shelf. But feels fine with 6 boxes.

In the box - comes with two long bolts w/ plastic sleve for installing in floor; 4 shelves that are large enough to hold my M&P 40 + clips for shelves; scope stand-offs for 4-5 guns.

Packing - door protected by 2 inch thick slab of styro-board with bubble wrap over entire safe. Some hard cardboard L's on the back corners, top & bottom.

Con - could have been cold/humidity of day I brought it home, but fire insulation strip that is attached to door frame came off while inspecting unit. So far, my attempt to put it back in position has held and no further trouble. Made in China, but based on price it's hard to find fire rated safe in entry level price range w/ fire protection.

Negative Reviews:

Received mine damaged inside, not sure how one of these can be damaged inside so badly but it was. Mounting screws all pulled from the mold which caused it to shift and damage the racks, waste of money or bad craftsmanship. Hope the next one will be better so I can give a better review.
