the best all-around lube | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This is definitely my favorite all-around lube. I have one bike, a ‘cross bike that I commute on, but I also ride it recreationally, and sometimes even race on it. I use Teflon Plus for all of that. I lube my chain before every ride, so I can’t really say how long it lasts until it's all gone, but I’ve done rides over four hours without any noise or shifting problems, and my chain is pretty old, so that says a lot. In dry conditions it stays cleaner than the oils I’ve tried, and it holds up in the rain until I have a chance to apply it again. I haven’t had the problems that the other reviewers have had with buildup, but like I said, I wipe my chain down and lube it before every ride, so maybe that’s why. I like it way better than the wax lubes I’ve tried, which I find really hard to wipe down, and which I usually have trouble getting off even with degreaser. I always have a bottle of this handy. | |

Attracts Black Sludge | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I will not use this product again. It is messy, and it attracts dirt, sand, grime more than others. It makes the chain, cogs, and chainring black with sludge. This will take longer to clean down than its worth and in the meantime the sludge is probably wearing down the chain and teeth. Others have said its better for wet conditions, but even then it would be good for only one ride, then would need to be stripped. | |

M'eh | |

| Wears out quickly and is a bit on the "thin" side for me. Seems to collect road grime quicker than other products. Not a bad product to carry with you, but somewhat pedestrian. I like White Lightning for its performance on both my commuter & on my dedicated MTB. | |
