Fischer S-Bound 98 Backcountry Touring Ski -
With the outstanding success of the late Karhu 10th Mtn Tour, it was time for masterful nordic ski manufacturer Fischer to develop a competitor - the Fischer S-Bound 98.
- Slightly stiffer overall than competitor's models, there is noticeably better edge hold, yet remarkably quick at turn initiation.
- Pattern is an insert, allowing Fischer to make the tip and tail sections out of much superior sintered polyethylene. Finally, a ski in this category that is worth hot-waxing!
- Waxless base is a refined version of a time tested positive pattern; sort of a half positive, half negative thing that doesn't retard edge hold in the mid section.
