Fishpond Tundra Tech Pack Reviews:

Very Well Thought Out Pack for Fishing

I have been looking for a trout fishing backpack for my light trout fishing as I spend day trips or hike from a base camp. The best thing I had come up with so far was a trout fishing light vest with my day pack over it, which isn't the most perfect set up. This Fishpond Tundra Tech Pack is the best that I have seen but had to send it back. The compartments are big enough and well-configured to stash your needs such as a hydration pack, fishing rod(s), raingear, extra jacket and lunch. The modular system of the front removeable chest portion is very nice, with compartments just the right size for a few items that you are using for immediate fishing uses. The material that the pack is made of looks and feels like it will hold up. The seams are nicely reinforced in areas that will be taking the abuse. The snaps for the waist and front packs were a little dificult to remove, but maybe time will loosen those up some. As they currently are, it will be dificult to unsnap with gloves on or with freezing fingers. The reason I sent it back had to do with the sizing of the pack. I am a female, 5'8" and the torso length of the pack frame is just too big. If it were available in a smaller frame size, I would be there in a hot minute! If the pack had fit me better, I would give it 5 stars, knocking off one star because of the larger sizing of the pack. I think it would be better if these details such as length of frame, would be better explained in the description to help people.

Great pack for day trip fishing

I have had this pack for two seasons now and could not be happier. It works perfectly for packing everything you need into the wilderness to hit the high mountain streams for the day. I also use it in winter to snowshoe into tail waters and it carries all I need including rod, reel, waders, boots, jacket etc. and then stows my snowshoes while I fish. The chest pack is also perfect for attaching to a boat frame when fishing from a raft.
If you are looking for a very versatile fishing pack that you can load down or just carry a lunch and some water upstream look no further.
