Five Ten Gambit Rock Shoe Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

Tuolumne slab? All day routes? Yes.

These shoes are hands down the most comfortable rock shoe I have owned. The 5.10 rubber is definitely the best I have experienced, and this stuff sticks to anything. I would recommend these shoes as a good pair to use on long routes, routes involving smearing, and even crack routes.

The biggest complaint I have, and it seems other folks do as well, is that this shoe does not hold an edge very well. I think that is just due more to the last of the shoe and what it is designed for. Best smearing I've seen out of any shoe.

Solid all-arounder

Solid all around climbing shoe. I wish I'd sized mine tighter, as they do seem to stretch out a bit. My street size is 12, and I got these in 11 after hearing they ran small, but I wish I'd gotten 10s. My feet tend to sweat a lot in these shoes, which is strange, as they look well-ventilated. The rubber is sticky and seems quite durable, and the shoe itself is in good shape after regular (tri-weekly) indoor and outdoor climbs for about 8 months. They are looking kind of gross and dirty though, but who cares. Recommended.

Good face climber

Very comfortable, good fit and Onyxx rubber. Only downsides are holding tiny edges and on long crack routes -- I doubt that uppers (or my toes) will last. In 42 years of climbing, I've never had a shoe that fits better right out of the box.

Great pait

I have had these for a couple months but only used them in the gym. I try to get in about twice a week, and they still have great stick. The stealth paint will also work out in the case of holes/wear. Great product!

I am just getting started and these seem perfect!

Solid performance

It's good rubber--5.10 makes sticky stuff, though the "onyxx" rubber on these shoes is perhaps not their best--it's made to be more durable from what I understand, and this seems to me at least to limit the stickiness.

These shoes are great for the beginner or for those looking for comfortable, all-day shoes. They edge decently well, smear decently, and generally do everything except the steepest of overhangs.

Great Rubber/Bad Upper

I have always like 5.10 Stealth rubber already having a pair of Moccasyms. The Gambits perform very well but after only 4-5 times out climbing cracks the upper has worn a hole. They do fit well without your feet suffering.
