The Guide Tennie by Five Ten is the most popular approach shoe in the world. After 20 years of perfecting the unisex model, Five Ten is proud to introduce the Women's Guide Tennie. Built on a women's last, the leather Women's Guide Tennie is the guide's choice for terrain that blends walking and climbing. Internal rocker promotes a healthier stride, while specially designed midsole and sole help regulate flexibility and diminish friction. Unbeatable friction on any terrain is supplied by high friction Stealth dotty tread soles.
The Guide Tennie by Five Ten is designed just for women with a specific last that fits lady's feet perfectly. Taking the family out or climbing for a living the Guide Tennie is perfect for fourth class scrambles at the base of the Tetons to hard moves above heinous landings. Some climbers just climb in these shoes because they perform well and are incredibly comfortable.
Long days in climbing shoes can kill your feet, but with the Guide Tennie you can stay incredibly comfortable while still being able to climb as hard as you want or need.
One of the most fomous guides of all time was Sacagawea. So, of course, we couldn't just make the men's Guide Tennie. This shoe can easily hike 10 miles into a climb, then ascend a 5.13 route. We've studied previous versions of our classic Guide shoes, and have created a women's GT that's better fitting, better performing and better looking than ever. The new last has a rocker, which makes walking efficient and comfortable making this a great choice for freerunners who need the added traction only stealth rubber can provide.
The iconic Guide Tennie is the most popular approach shoe in the world. The perfect date for mixed terrain, the Guide Tennie is designed as a one-shoe solution for hiking and climbing. The shoe has an internal rocker to promote a healthier stride, climbing-friendly toe and proprietary midsole and outsole package to regulate flex and increase stability.
Most guys’ shoes just don’t fit most women’s feet. Five Ten put all the style and performance of the Guide Tennie into a women’s-specific last. This shoe can do everything from canyons to cafes.
Setting out to find your next rock-climbing adventure? The women's Five Ten Guide Tennie shoes are ready to take on tough terrain and can easily handle long approaches.

These shoes do what they were intended for and more! I have scrambled up super sketchy approaches on all different kinds of rock. Hiked more miles than I care for. Climbed wide cracks and alpine routes in these babies! They have saved my rear from taking some major falls. Forgot them once on a climbing trip. Was so upset I almost cried! They are a part of me when I'm out there. They have a hole in the side and the dot soles are almost completely gone, but they STILL stick and are still awesome!
I got these shoes mainly for low grade climbing but they are so comfortable I wear them hiking and for every day stuff. I have a narrow foot and they fit me great! The dot rubber is the stickiest sole money can buy. :) Keep in mind however that dot rubber is not a good sole for snow/ice, but they are my go to shoe for spring/summer/fall. 5.10 lives up to it's name, it's one of my favorite pairs of shoes! AND, they're super cute.
I've had this shoe and put it through the wringer! Wear them all the time. Contrary to what most of the reviews are saying about the shoes fitting a narrow foot, I have a wide foot and they fit really well. It was so long ago that I first broke them in, it's hard for me to remember if they were ever uncomfortable. I love the dots! Solid shoe for the outdoors and mine are still in super great shape. They definitely hold up!
I've used this shoe for almost everything. For approaches to a climb or even on Canyoneering trips. It sticks incredibly well to sandstone and granite. When when wet. When they get wet they will shrink (because it is leather) but they will stretch out as you use it.
These are really tight and narrow, but come to think of it, aren't all approach shoes tight and narrow? At least all the ones I've tried on are. Just a heads up these have the round dots on the sole (I only bring that up because I know some people that don't like that style tread), but like all Five Ten's they are super grippy!
