Good-buy

Before I bought them I tried a pair on that a friend of mine had. She was told that the soles wear out fairly fast. This is not so true. Yes, it is inevitable that they will wear out a little quicker than your ordinary shoe, but considering...
These shoes are great and they also are surprisingly waterproof-repellent. My foot only get wet when the water come over the tounge/heel area (obviusly i'm not just standing around in water puddles either, duh). They do feel a slight big. Not so much a concern during the colder season when I'm wearing thicker socks. With thinner one on they are a very slight bigger/looser than I perfer. Maybe a half size smaller might help. I will say that my left foot is almost a half size bigger than my right, so maybe this is a good fit... Would absolutly buy another pair.

Great sticky rubber!

This is the 2nd pair of Insights I own. Bought this pair for canyoning - I initially bought the Canyoneers and returned them for a pair of Insights as the latter are cooler and lighter for canyon approaches. The Canyoneers are good but the Insights do the same thing and weigh 1/2 pound less per pair. My other pair of Insights I use for 3rd and 4th class mountaineering and approaches in the Sierra. These are awesome shoes which let me scramble up routes that I otherwise wouldn't get up. Plus they give added mental and physical security on routes with lots of exposure. Several friends are also now using Insights after we've climbed together and seeing the benefits sticky rubber offers. I'll never go back to running shoes or non-sticky shoes in the mountains. These shoes are also secure on wet rock. Couldn't ask for more!

Awesome shoe

Great shoe on the trail and on the rock. Thicker sole than the five tennie guides which is nice for hiking deeper lugs makes then better on wet sloppy trails. No breakin required comfortable right out of the box. Great for New England conditions.

Negative Reviews:

Might work for some, not for me.

I loved the Mountain Master shoes but these never settled in right. The heel counter rubbed on both ankles and ultimately made me send them to the thrift store. Solid feeling shoe and I really wanted to like them but life's too short for shoes that don't feel right.
