Five Ten Moccasym Reviews:

The original Moccasyms are the best shoes for onsighting or red-pointing sport routes, hard bouldering, indoor, and crack climbing. I have been climbing in these shoes for over 10 years now because they are the best at what they do. Super sensitivity on the smallest dime edged crystal. Great for smearing on slab. Asymmetric toes for toeing in when in overhangs. I've tried other shoes with more camber, more support, fancier materials, but these are the badass shoes that always performs. Have you watched Gran Torino? Yeah, these shoes are like that car; timeless. I go two sizes down from my street shoe since they stretch a lot. I wear a size 11 in street so I go down to a size 9 when buying them. They are not lined, board lasted, and made with real leather so they will form to your feet like a glove after a month of climbing.

Anybody got some crack?

I bought these in size 8. I wear an 8 or 8.5 in regular shoes and a 7.5 in Anasazis. These things slay the cracks but come up short when it's time to edge, at least in this size. They're comfy (read: all-day shoes) and smear well. Not great for sport, but I've got Anasazis for that. Bottom line is that they're an excellent quiver shoe. As Chris Kalous says," if you're not wearing Moccs at the creek you might as well tie a watermelon to your harness, because you obviously don't care."
