Having to admit the end of life as my 5.10 Freerunners lifespan was eased by the purchase of this newest 5.10 all round boulering/parkouring/climbing approach-ish shoe. Like the Freerunner, these run half size small and to wear them the day after delivery meant stuffing balled socks into the toes overnight. In time (as in months), I hope the handcrafted construction molds to your foot like a custom shoe, which is when I came to LOVE the Freerunners. If there is a lot of hiking before a scramble, I'll pack these as there is less arch/cushion than typcial hikers. These make for a solid, supportive weight lifting shoe afterwhich they have the perfect stealthy stick for the rotating wall. In fact, my hands tire before my legs. Your feet will feel safe in them no matter what you encounter with the combined outer and stickiest rubber on the planet. With reflective strips, they're safe to pedal in and even pull off pairing them w/jeans and a t. If it helps purchase, Tom Cruise chose these as his climber for his last MI flick.

Negative Reviews:

runs WAY small!

I love 5.10, and I only wear their climbing shoes (have had many pairs of different types; the last is perfect for me) so I've always wanted a pair of their approach shoes. However these simply did not work.
-they run at least 1.5 size small (i'm usually a 7.5 to 8 in hiking shoes, and tried 3 pairs of these, as I had to keep going up. Size 9 was only barely big enough, but still only just
-didn't seem that comfortable around the toes, I could feel the seams and stuff. Though it was hard to tell since they are so mis-sized.
However his is the second or third approach shoe from 5.10 I've tried that was uncomfortable, so I'll just stick to them for climbing (no pun intended).
