Borrowing tons of tech from the flagship DL freestyle binding, the Flux DS Snowboard Binding is an amazing value for freestyle riders looking to tweak grabs, boost off jumps, and progress tricks. A new Ultima Wing highback is crafted of super tough nylon for unbelievable durability when slammed and banged against obstacles and hard landings. The new wing shape cradles your leg—enhancing ollie power and increasing stability on landings. Strategically cored out for increased flex and tweakability, this highback will enable you to perfect steezy nose presses and poked-out Methods.
The Ultima baseplate is brand spankin' new, and it offers a performance blend for a responsive feel. Sitting atop this baseplate is the DS Binding's biggest update for this season, a Deck Sensor Freestyle footbed. Crafted specifically for outside edge support, this footbed improves stability and board control by offering natural canting. The instep of the footbed features a softer foam material, which allows your boot to naturally compress and conform to the footbed as you ride. This small amount of tilt makes a significant difference, bringing more power to the nose and tail for loftier ollies and better drive. Flux didn't stop there with the revitalized baseplate design. They've added urethane stabilizers in two different densities, allowing you to customize the fit and feel of your bindings.
Keeping you fastened comfortably and securely into your bindings, Flux's Absolute Fit ankle strap is designed for freestyle snowboarding, thus allowing for an optimum mixture of support and mobility. The ankle strap is curved specifically to enhance comfort and response, especially on the outside of the strap. On the inside of the strap, you'll notice a cored out section that's much less dense. This reduces weight, but more importantly allows for enhanced freedom of motion when tweaking grabs and styling out tricks. The FTM Monocoque toe strap is molded from a one-piece design, allowing for superior boot fit, more responsiveness, and minimized pressure points.
I demo'd this binding for a few runs at the Milo demo at Brighton, I have tried flux before but the pressure they put on my ankle isn't good, I know a lot of people like them but they are not a good fit for my foot. Outside of that They had good response and feel. Recommend them for all mountain shenanigans.
