The Focus FSL is lightweight, full carbon suspension bike designed to ruffle some feathers in the XC racing scene. Thanks to an impressively stiff frame design, the Focus FSL is great on the climbs, while a steeper head angle and short wheelbase makes the FSL super agile for maneuvering through rock gardens and around other obstacles encountered on the trail. In 2011 Focus redesigned the FSL and integrated the rear suspension with the top tube which distributes forces to the frame with less distortion and tension; this allows all the energy you put into your pedal strokes to work toward propelling you forward and not toward flexing your frame around. The rear suspension placement also protects your shock from muck and debris tossed up by the trail and opens up the main triangle for installing bottle cages and making the FSL easy to throw over your shoulder and carry over unrideable sections of trail. Aside from the rear suspension placement, the FSL has all the features you’ve come to expect on a XC bike: tapered headtube, internal cable routing, PF30 bottom bracket shell, post-mount rear brake mount, direct mount front derailleur, and Focus’ Easy Access Bearing System, making all bearing points easily accessible and serviceable from the non-drive side without needing to remove your cranks.
Focus has set the FSL 2.0 out on the right path with this high performance frame it only seems fitting that Focus would outfit it full Shimano XTR. This race-ready group is super light weight and performance driven, just like the FSL frame. Together they produce an awesome ride experience. Having reliability on race day is a huge issue. Knowing you can count on your bike to do the job you need is critical. Shimano 10 speed shifters set the pace of smooth and reliable shifting while the XTR front and rear derailleurs add to the performance and reliability. The super light weight and stiff Shimano XTR cranks are power houses when it comes to performance and design. The entire XTR group was designed to provide you with the best experience possible. The FSL 2.0 and this XTR race group complement each other in way you can only understand by hoping on and riding for yourself.
