Whether you're sniffing for powder stashes in the trees or eyeing a line of soft snow from the chairlift, search for the goods with the Folsom Women's Gold Digger Ski. Designed, engineered, and built by skiers, the Gold Digger features a 115mm fat waist and an Everyday Rocker profile that enables you to slay powder, bust through crud, dig trenches down corduroy, and lay sweet, buttery turns in soft snow. This is truly a women-specific plank—the engineers designed the Gold Digger's flex, camber, and mount point all around a lady so you're not just getting a shorter guy's ski. Thanks to the Gold Digger's dual rocker design with short turning radius, you have a playful everyday pow ski that has no problem transitioning over to packed conditions or groomed terrain.
Folsom Skis uses a modified sandwich construction that creates horizontal layers of material from bottom to top with epoxy resin bonding each layer for impressive durability. The engineers also incorporated Durasurf UHMW sidewalls into the construction; these don't crack or break and handle impact better than ABS sidewalls. Rubber foil is also used in specific locations in the ski to reduce vibration and to increase adhesion between the metal edges and the fiberglass.
This creates an incredibly damp ski for a calm and stable ride no matter what the terrain.
The Gold Digger's core features hand-selected poplar and bamboo wood that have been precision milled on Folsom's CNC machine to a tolerance of .004 of an inch. This core makes the ski durable, lightweight, poppy, and extremely responsive. In addition, Folsom designers uses a carbon stringers to increase the overall strength of the ski.
Edges can be a game-changer, especially when you blow one out or when they're hardly thick enough to withstand a season of tuning, so Folsom equipped the Gold Digger with 2.1mm Rockwell 48 steel edges. Oh, and we can't forget Folsom's Durasurf sintered base material that can take a beating while staying fast. Harder and with better wax absorption properties than extruded bases, sintered bases are the industry standard for performance and longevity.
