Is it possible to give a product 6 stars?

Talk about a product that not only met, but exceeded all my expectations. My buddy took one look and said "This thing was built and designed by someone who knew what they were doing." True dat!
It is quality top to bottom. Heavy gauge steel main beams, a beefy angle brace at the bottom, and heavy duty steel cable on the boat trailer quality hoist. It is designed so that you can drop the tailgate of your pickup truck and use it as a shelf while you're cleaning your game.
As if that weren't enough, it arrived virtually assembled completely. There was one nut to put on the crank handle and a thru-bolt with a cotter pin that holds the top and bottom sections together ... that's it! Done, finished, ready to hang your deer or hog. If it were possible to give a product 6 stars, this one surely deserves that rating.

Great Idea

Im in a wheel chair and use a rhino to get around, so I use this to carry and move all kinds of things . Was poorly packaged , lost a couple parts in shipping ,regarding tightening nut and washer for crank. But otherwise I recommend it.

Save your BACK

The Foreverlast Hitch Hoist,
Some of the holes may not match for set up. Not sure of the need for that much cable? It's much easier to load game into the bed of your vehicle and saves your BACK

Great idea, quality is lacking

Purchased this system after my wife (73 years old and 99 lb dripping wet) and I (also 73 but twice the weight) practically killed ourselves dragging and lifting my 186 lb field dressed buck into my truck. Used it to load a heavy doe last week. It is a great idea but not well manufactured. Positive:
- Rugged, good swiveling cantilever design.
- Having plenty of cable is useful.
- Cranks easily - even my wife can do it.
- Does the job extremely well once the negative features are fixed.
- Crank arm hits the gear axle bolt. Bent arm in vise to clear bolt - now works.
- Hoist locking mechanism sticks - bend the spring and grease it well.
- Cable attachment clamp at cable end loop had 1/2 inch of frayed cable protruding - punctured my hand and fingers several times before I carefully trimmed excess cable with hack saw..
- Metal pulley disks are not beveled and cause the cable to go off track. Also, top front pulley mounts were welded at an angle with too much space at pulley sides, causing cable to wedge between pulley and mount if cable was not completely vertical. The alignment and spacing problem was fixed by bending the mounting plates and tightening the pulley axle bolt to eliminate space. I will replace the pulley disks with beveled ones. This would be a great machine if Cabela's could have the manufacturer fix the quality problems.
