Forum Manual Snowboard

Snowboarding > SnowboardsRated: **** by 3 reviews.

ProBoardShop.com

Riders who want an amazing, unrivaled jib board will seek out the Manual. The shape is perfectly symmetrical with a long running length and short nose and tail. The Manual's short tip reduce "hooking" the nose or tail when jumping onto rails and obstacles. The long running length means you can downsize about three to four centimeters from your normal size board. Shorter means lighter and in turn; easier to ollie. The Biax glass delivers smooth flex for kicked up pressing, from street jibs to the terrain park funboxes.

Features:

  • Biax Laminates
  • Effective Edge (cm) - 127.40
  • Free Base
  • Gnar Core
  • Nose/Tail (cm) - 30.14
  • Sidecut (m) - 8.17
  • Twin Board Shape
  • Twin Core Profile
  • Waist (cm) - 25.30

A jib stick for late night urban recons, this buttery ride is the team’s top pick for street sessions. The low swing weight makes it faster 270 on or off, while pre-ground edges reduce hang-ups on wood, metal or concrete and tough construction survives abuse from ledges, rails or tantrums. Big and bright name-drop graphics make sure a Forum allegiance shows up in the money shot.

Features:

  • Beveled Edges
  • Biax Laminates
  • Effective Edge (cm) - 116.40
  • Flex: 3

When Eddie Wall and Nic Sauve head out for an urban rail sesh, they saddle up the Forum Manual Snowboard. Beveled edges keep them from getting snagged on rails and the poplar core softens the flex and helps the pros butter like nothing else.

Positive Reviews:

the topsheet is fine

Rating:*****
Seriously? you rated this board less because the topsheet cracked? Yes the topsheet will crack, it's a JIB STICK, it isn't made from top of the line materials, it IS meant to get beat up and keep riding. I would hate to see what you write if you actually hit street rails and made the base all furry, or gave it a core shot. My guess, because you were riding this board in powder for some reason, is that you are just starting out and you think a 300.00 board is expensive, and have no experience in what "normal wear and tear" on a snowboard is.

I have the 147 from the season previous, this board is AMAZING!!! Don't take that last review into account. While it is a short board it rides bigger, great for rails, ok for jumps (depending on the size you get). The board is engineered so you can ride a shorter boar (i weigh 150 lbs, and if i went with the 150 cm. i would have been at the bottom of the weight range). This deck is all around fun and catch free (without rocker even!) and I will most likely bring it off the wall again to ride it next season even if i buy a new board. Best thing to do if you are researching getting a board is to go to your local skate/snow shop and talk to them..... and then BUY IT from them.

Neutral Reviews:

Great rider, horrible construction!

Rating:***
The board rides great! Does well on jumps, even better on rails and boxes. Performed just fine in Colorado in the deep pow! However, I am now on my third board due to the top sheet cracking and chipping like glass. Sure its cosmetic and doesn't affect the ride but for the money spent on the board I would expect a much better construction. Burton/Forum needs to pick up the slack on this board.
