The Forum Recon -which holds its own even at the highest level- makes slick design available at a shop rat price. Normally it would take two bills to get options like a living hinge highback, real wrap EVA padding and an adjustable toe ramp. The Living Hinge was completely redesigned and sculpted with comfort in mind and perfectly wraps the contours of your boot while supplying just the right amount of support. The Recon simply put is a steal -snag up a pair this season.

The Forum Recon Snowboard is an excellent all-around board at a price that a) won't ruin your bank account and b) makes those late-season core shots less devastating. Forum combined a Compound Matrix core with bi-axial laminate construction to create a soft-flexing board that turns without a fight. The tail of this slightly directional snowboard is slightly stiffer than the nose, which adds stability on landings.

Basic training for any level rider. The Recon comes back upgraded. Forum made internal improvements and redesigned this skate inspired upper. Forum has also added their high traction outsole and a heat moldable liner. The Recon is outperforming boots twice its price.

Steal of a Deal, Get on board!

Rating:****

I recently was able to ride my board for the first time and was very happy with the performance. I got a regular 158 and the graphics on it are really nice and simple. Mine has the hot neon green and it really pops with the black and white accents. The board has a medium flex so it's great for all mountain riding and messing around in the park. I've rode it twice now and it's a great board for the type of riding that I'm in to, which is all mountain cruising and beginner park. I was hesitant on whether or not to get a wide board, but I'm very happy with this standard model and I have not gotten any toe or heel drag(by the way I where a size 10.5 boot). Overall, great board for the price with sick graphics and I'm sure with a few more rides on it I would end up giving it a five star status. I just haven't had the time to really experiment with it.

Great Board!

Rating:*****

This board is a sleeper. No one really know how good it actually is. It's made in the same factory, made of the same materials and basicly is the same board as the the Transworld GoodWood champ two years in a row. The Jon Kooley and Seth Huot Santa Cruz boards are almost identical in every way possible to the Forum Recon, with the exception of two points... The Recon has different graphics and costs $200.00 dollars cheaper then the before mentioned Santa Cruz boards. You can't go wrong with this stick. It's in a league by it's self at this price. No one can touch it!

Pop it everywhere

Rating:*****

I ride this board on back country in Western Alaska (Nome) in and on all kinds of snow from hard pack ice to 4 foot deep pow, many time on the same run, and this board handles well in all conditions. Responds amazingly well when conditions are inconsistent and handles well when you feel like dropping a cornice and racing out an avalanche. Way impressed.

i like the board, great value. but it's a bit too stiff for me, i like by boards a little bit flexier. besides the flex, everything is perfect.

Entry Level for sure.

This would be a good board for a beginner. Soft, forgiving of mistakes, and easy to ride. And cheap! For anyone that requires a little more from their boards though, this is not for you. First of all the stance options are pretty minimal. You have to change your stance more than an inch wider or skinnier if you want to stay somewhat centered on the board. Otherwise you'll be almost an inch set back. To me the board felt dead. Pretty fun on rails and boxes, but when you take it out of the park it falls short. No pop, difficult to hold an edge at speed, etc. Overall not a bad board, but nothing great either.
