Modeled after its V3 motocross helmet, the Fox Racing Rampage DH helmet has a vented fiberglass shell over EPS hard foam, soft cheek pads, a synthetic suede lining, and a double D-ring chinstrap. It isn't lightweight compared to your XC helmet, but you need a little extra when you're dealing with DH diggers.

This was my second helmet from Fox, and let me tell you that it is without a doubt one of the best beginner helmets. I did break it within about a month or so, but it kept my head in one piece and absorbed almost all the shock. Neck was stiff for a couple days, but it saved me from a severe concussion. By far best bang for the buck! Fits great! Feels Great! Looks Great! Don't pass it up
I used it for a full season of DH. Its comfortable and keeps your head cool while moving. Saved my life several times. Would have broken my jaw if i didn't have it. Only complaint is that the visor is a little flimsy.
I have been looking for a helmet that fits a narrow face, and this one is perfect. Much tighter on my cheeks / face than a 661 or Giro helmet.
