This is my third pair of Frye boots but my first pair of cowboy boots that I have ever bought. I love these boots so much. Once you break them in (usually a day), they are so comfortable. I have walked hours and hours in them and they feel like a pair of tennis shoes! They do have that "worn" look to them but that adds to the appeal. It's a bit rugged but cute at the same time. The toe isn't has pointy as your typical cowboy boots so I feel theses are more feminine. They go well with skinny jeans or or dresses. They are so versatile! I typically wear a 7.5 and 7 in Frye but even the 7 seemed a bit loose after I broke them in. I probably could have gone down to a 6.5 but maybe they are meant to fit a bit loose. Just remember to size half a size down. They are my favorite pair of boots for this winter.
LOVE these boots! I slipped them on and oh the comfort is exquisite - my go to boots. These boots are very well made and will stand the test of time. As a person with HUGE calves these are a great option. So... in summary comfortable, well made, fit monster calves - life is good. Also bought pair in cognac.
These are great boots! Beautiful Frye leather, perfectly distressed, totally comfortable right out of the box. My favorite thing about them, though, is the beautifully simple design - they are the ur-Frye short boot. I have no willpower with these, and now I have them in all three colors.
So, loved these boots at first sight. Was in awe of how beautiful they were and the delicious smell of good quality leather. Never disappoints. Except for...the interior. These are my second pair of Fryes, I have the Carson tall tab. I went up a half size (7.5 compared to the 7 in my talls - normal non Frye shoe size is an 8), but my foot wouldn't fit properly. I took my first pair (the talls) to a cobbler and they have since been molded like a pair of socks on my feet. These new short lugs are actually like a suede leather on the inside - this makes it impossible for your feet to move? Sounds weird, but it's very uncomfortable! If I did not already own a pair of Carson's already, I can't say I would have been able to pinpoint this. The tall Carson tabs I have are lined with a smooth leather, it makes your feet so much more comfy. Bottom line, if you've got a narrow foot, maybe the suedish interior won't bother you. My feet are a bit wide, not wide enough to buy wide shoes. I also tried these on with thin trouser socks. Breaks my heart to have to send these bad boys back. The color is gorgeous, the rubber layer on the bottom just makes this boot so much more sturdier. It's just a great boot - except that darn interior. I think the Carson tab short will be more of what I need. I have a feeling for the price difference, it's got that smooth interior. But at that price, I may get the Heath Disc Harness.
