Frye Dakota Crepe Tall Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

I had this pair of boots for almost 2 months now. They do the job great. They are durable, fashionable and good in any weather. They are expensive as well. Good but not perfect - this is how; even though I might be a little hipster by heart and I care more about how they look and that might be my bias, I'm really disappointed that they aren't as comfortable as I expected. If I'm doing any type of walking for over 10 minutes these start to annoy me. Minimal if no arch support, plus I get scabs from time to time. I think if you use a bit of lotion you could prevent the scabs but still, I think for a pair of boots at this price, Frye should have given it a little more TLC in the comfort department. I looked all over for boots and I told myself I'll get a good pair to last me a while and I don't mind spending extra - I gotta say I haven't seen a pair yet that esthetically look as good as these.

These boots have great style. Slightly taller shafts make them more like "boots" than other Dakota models. The use of tumbled leather adds an urban twist to the classic work boots. They are comfort, no need to break in. Unlike some Frye pull-on boots I have, these boots don't offer good arch support (this might have something to do with the lace-up style). Thus, they don't fit like gloves like my Carson Pull-on boots. One thing I need to mention is that the crepe soles make these boots weigh much lighter than the way they look, which is a good thing for walking I guess. A lot of walking in these boots is not a painful experience. However, the lightweight crepe rubber could also make the heels less durable. I feel they will be worn out much quicker than stacked heels or regular rubber heels. Overall, I still like them (especially if you got them as a birthday gift).

Negative Reviews:

I have many pairs of Frye boots but these are absolutely terrible. The crepe sole on one of the shoes was defective, actually came off the first time that I wore them. I do not mind paying such a high price for quality boots like some of the Frye's. However, these are terrible quality.
