Frye Heather Huarache Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

Great summer shoes! I'm a true 9.5, but sometimes go with 10 (some brands have no half sizes past 9 and some brands just run a little small) but I always get 9.5 with Frye. No change with these ones. My feet are pretty narrow and there is a little room on the sides but it doesn't really effect the fit or comfort - they could definitely work for someone with wider feet though. Didn't notice the little elastic strap inside by the heel before I bought them, but it seems to improve comfort. The leather at the ankle is a little sharp against my skin, but with a little more wear I think this will go away. (That's why I'm giving it a 4 on comfort.) Expensive for a pair of flats that pretty much look like something you could find in a thrift store, but the quality and feel of Frye shoes never disappoint!

These are beautiful, high-quality (but stiff) woven leather shoes which flattered my feet. Unfortunately, I felt I could not keep them, as I got a blister on my second toe just from a minimal wearing at home. I ordered two sizes and found the smaller one worked better. There is a small elastic in the heel part of the upper that forces your foot forward into the toe of the shoe. Without that elastic, the larger size would have had a roomier fit in the toe, but since my foot was shoved completely forward, there was a substantial gap at the heel. The smaller shoe had no extra room in either heel nor toe. With time the leather would likely have softened, but for the price, even on sale, I'm not willing to suffer.

Runs a little small, for Fryes. I normally wear a 9 in Frye (although sometimes 9.5 in other brands; and usually 40 in Euro sizes). I ordered these in a 9 and they were a little too short--my big toes jammed into the end. The leather is pretty stiff and doesn't have a lot of give so I don't think they'd stretch or wear in. I'll be returning them and may try the 9.5 when it becomes available, although I fear they may be too big since open flats like these are so tricky.

High quality, beautiful construction, but runs a bit small. I ordered the half size up as well to compare. I think that the little elastic at the heel is pushing my foot forward and making them feel smaller than they are. I might remove the elastic from the smaller size and just put it back in if the leather stretches out later on.

Negative Reviews:

It pains me to say this because I love this brand, but the heel strap on this slips down every time I walk. I can't wear these (very nice looking) expensive shoes. I even took them to a shoe repair shop and had them add extra structure to try and make the heel strap stay on. It falls down, making it impossible to walk. Unfortunately: terrible, unwearable shoes.
