I decided to spend some proper money on a pair of boots that would last. I wanted something simple, clean, and classic. These boots fit that bill nicely. They look great with a pair of dark jeans, or wool dress pants. Although they have the "wrinkled" looking upper section, they don't come across like that "in real life" when they are on your feet. As others have mentioned, the soles are louder than rubber or soft sole boots, but it doesn't bother me...just adds a little authority to my step. Been wearing them every day for a few weeks now and proving to be durable and just what I wanted: well crafted, high quality boots that will last and look good.

Okay, I perused these boots/shoes for quite a while, with no reviews to go by and finally ordered them. Ordered half size smaller that I noticed was recommended on other Frye boots and they fit perfectly. Like most of us, though, I've grown up in quiet shoes and boots. These are loud soled. In a house of tile and hardwood it sounds like I'm being followed by a group of girls in high heeled shoes. Which I like. Others maybe not. I love them. Sometimes I forget I have them on until I walk around and hear the ladies behind me. I'm not sure they're worth the price but they are most likely the most well made shoes I've owned.

These are my favorite boots and my first pair of Fryes. They are slightly distressed and look as if they blend a slightly punk rock style with a classic turn of the century look. When they arrived, I put them on and couldn't take them off because they felt as if they were made for me with no need to "break them in." Don't expect to sneak around in them because they are very loud due to the hard leather sole. They could stand to be less in price, but there was no way I was sending them back. Oh yeah, I've received several compliments from both men and women alike.

Original size 11 was too small, way too tight when my insert was put inside the shoes. Size 12 fit much better. I love the fit and style very much. Thanks to the Zappos crew for their help in getting me into the right one.

Love the style of these, but they were narrow and very hard to get my foot in (but once my foot was in they felt like the right size. However, the toe really curls up and made my walking feel kinda funny (I guess because of the heel being high? but I have other boots with similar 1 inch heel and I didn't feel so weird walking). I tried them on once and am returning them. Going to probably replace them with Wolverine 1000s or Redwing Beckman boots.
