Frye Owen Moc Toe Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

These boots are made with quality leather so they are 1. heavy, and 2. stiff out of the box. This is to be expected. Even so, I found them comfortable straight out of the box and have been wearing them for a month now. They grow even more comfortable as the leather softens. They are very well made and look to last. I will have them re-soled in the future. The lace-up design of the boot call for the laces to wrap around the boot above the ankle before threading back through the top two lace-holes. I tried to live with this but in the end just cut the laces short and now lace them like typical boots. The initial stiffness make the boots quite difficult to put on and take off. This gets better as the leather softens. I am very happy with the boots and plan to wear them until they fall apart.

Great boots, style and comfort. Biggest complaints are the laces are really junk. These expensive boots should have decent laces. Would be nice if Frye would let you know that they are made in Mexico. Seems like a high $ boot for being made in Mexico.

Neutral Reviews:

These are great-looking boots hampered by crappy laces and a very uncomfortable out-of-the-box feel. One of the leather laces broke as I tried to tighten up the boot. I went ahead and pulled the boot the rest of the way on, and it was like a steel bar was bearing down over the top of my foot. I'm sure they'd mold to my feet over time and eventually be amazing, but at what cost in pain? Plus, any boot at this price delivered with laces that break is a sad joke. Back to Zappos with them! (I ended up with Sorel King Stacked Moc Mids, by the way.)
