Frye Tyler Lace Up Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

I had owned a pair of the Frye Harness boots for many years and loved them. After years of wearing them out (even though they still hold up to this day), I wanted to go with a slimmer, more low profile boot that allowed a little more action. These Tyler Lace Ups are the perfect solution for an everyday boot. Here's a list of Pros/Cons: -Pros- These have a tailored/slim fit to them. My feet fit more snug in these boots; other boots I've tried required an additional thick insole to keep my feet from swimming around (needing insoles not a bad thing, it's just one less thing to worry about). Low profile style. I have the black (non-stone washed) pair, and they are completely without any additional flare. It's a nice classic look, with a hint of style from their tailored fit. High action. Overall they're pretty flexible and light, and they don't feel like you're wearing two bricks on your feet. They also feel sturdy at the same time; like a cross between dress boots and work boots. Pre-broken-in. This may be a Con for others, but I like the fact that you can wear these right away without worrying about blisters. -Cons- Tongue weirdness. The boots tongues cause some discomfort, but this is usually relieved over time as the boot will most likely conform to the shape of the foot. Not so easy to take on and off. These require a bit of struggle and loosening to get on and off. But they're tailored boots, so it comes with the territory. -Conclusion- I'm really happy with these boots. If you're looking for a casual boot that goes well with jeans or any casual slacks that have a straight or tapered leg, you should definitely check these out. Plus, they're Frye boots, and they will most likely last you a good deal of time! Notes: Try a half-size down from your normal shoe size. Frye recommends doing this and they're completely right. I'm 10.5 with most other shoes, went with a 10, and they fit perfectly.

I'm very happy with my Tyler boots after owning them for about a month. I was initially cautious about sizing after reading reports that some Frye boots run large, but I ended up getting my regular size after trying a half-size smaller pair, primarily for adequate width. They felt snug and a little tight, but after only a few hours of wear conformed to my feet, and now I would describe their fit as glove-like. The leather is soft, especially in the ankle. The heel gives a lot of side-to-side support, so I don't feel a need for an after-market insole for arch support, which is minimal. They are lined with soft leather, it seems that is the bonus for being made in Mexico over the U.S. for the price. The leather laces, in combination with the ankle height, are definitely not built for speed, but do their job while looking good. The slightly extended toe is a nice styling touch while not looking extreme. I would caution those with wide feet that this model may be slightly narrow. I consider my feet to be medium+ width and they were initially snug. But I love 'em!

At first wear, the shoes were very snug and took a little getting used too. After a few wears they fit like a glove. As someone who has exceptionally flat feet, these boots held my orthotics well. The boots did take a week or so to wear in but now that they fit they are one of my favorite pairs of shoes.

These are really great boots. The distressed leather is cool and of nice quality. The boot fits a little tight at first but it does break in quickly and custom molds around your foot they was good leather should. Love these.

I bought this shoe (black stone washed) and I was so excited about it. The shoe was look awesome but I wear them it turns out they are not comfortable and and they run large and narrow. Any way I returned them. I think Frye is not a good choice for us with the wide feet.
