Frye James Penny Loafer Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

Great looking shoe. Leather is very firm, which is good except that as I walk, the crease in the leather from where the top of the shoe flexes really makes the top of my foot sore. I hope this changes the more I wear them. (I wear them daily for about two months now). Also, I added anti-skid patches on the bottom of the shoe because I found them more slippery than I'm used to. Great looking shoe though!

Great shoe -- I have plantar fasciitis and usually have to wear some sort of inserts in my shoes. For some reason, I don't need them with these (although I can't explain why). I had no trouble breaking them in and could wear them all day from day one. Overall, a great shoe that looks great.

I love these shoes. They look great, and they are just the right level of casual for me to wear to work and as I travel. But after just three months, I find the shoe sole cracks and one or two holes get worn in them. I have gone through two pairs already.

These are great shoes. The fit is true to size. They look as cool on my feet as they look in the photos. The quality is excellent, and comfort is great - even without socks (which I rarely did before getting these shoes).

Negative Reviews:

I was psyched to get this loafer until I actually put it on. The leather is super stiff and not comfortable at all. Instead of returning it, I thought maybe it's just one of those shoes that you need to break in, but no, it's been about 8 months now, and this shoe is extremely uncomfortable. I did give it three stars for style because of its shape and look, but I really do consider this a lost investment. I got the tan version, and now I rarely wear it. I certainly don't wear it when I know I will be walking, which sucks because I am in NYC everyday.
