GL2 rods

I use the classic steelhead models 1024, 1082, and 1265. These rods bend a lot and are great for my light tackle saltwater fishing. These rods do bend a lot and the only thing about them I wish were different was a little more backbone. I use 1/16oz to 1/2 on the 1024 and 1082 and up to 1oz on the 1265. The 1024 and 1265 had a nice backbone to them, but when I hooked into something in the 15lb range...it was difficult to move the fish and that was where I would have liked more of a backbone. Don't get me wrong, these rods are excellent light tackle rods and I really would not get rid of them at all...except to upgrade to the GL3 and IMX versions. On a side note- the 1082 and 1024 were quite nice at throwing smaller popping corks with shrimp for reds and trout...exceptionally long casts and also great length rod for anyone wade fishing.

Great Rod

This is a great rod and one of me best purchases. Absolutly awesome for trout fishing. Extremly sensitive and powerful every fish you have on feels like its 10 lbs. Awesome casting and light too. I do a lot of trout fishing both fly and casting and fish a lot of different water.... plain and simple this rod is fun to catch fish with!!!
