G. Loomis Float Spinning Rods -
Popular among steelhead anglers in the Great Lakes region for years, float fishing is quickly becoming one of the more successful techniques in the Pacific Northwest. These new Float Rods allow you to maximize the technique. The longer lengths make it easier to mend line for drag-free drifts and pick up slack line quickly to deliver hooksetting power where you need it. You'll be able to keep your bait at the right depth and in the strike zone longer.

G. Loomis Float Spinning Rods Reviews:

G.Loomis - Steelhead Bewared

I am an avid Great Lakes steelhead fisherman. I've been fishing for steelhead for almost 20 years. One thing I learned quickly is that you don't have much of a chance against these fish with inferior equiqment. Luckily I was introduced to G.Loomis steelhead rods about 10 years ago. I started off with the 9'6" GLX STR1141S. Great rod with excellent sensitivity and hook setting ability. On top of the outstanding quality of the rod, G.Loomis offers a lifetime limited warranty. They have proven to me that they stand behind their product. The one time I had to use this warranty, G.Loomis made it easy to return the rod and sent a new one to me quicker than I could have expected.
Since I've enjoyed using the 9'6" GLX for several years, this past year I decided to purchase the G.Loomis Float Rod. This rod offers all of the same great qualities as the STR1141S including; extreme sensitivity and hook setting. However, the 13'4" rod offers improved fish fighting ability, especially when clear water conditions call for light line and small hooks. The extra lenght also allows for long, drag free drifts. Another great product from G.Loomis.

Very good but

I like the feel and performance of the 11'4" float spinning rod. However, after having the rod for less than 6 months the insert from the rod tip guidebroke off, and I will need to send it back for repair. I have used the rod less than 10 outing. Kinda fragile.
