Well made for a synthetic. Right price for a fun, occasonal style change, though not supportive enough or cushioned enough for extensive walking/dancing or everyday wear (I don't have any foot problems except that my straight, narrow heels slip out of most shoes once they're broken in, especially flats without elastic, high arches and sweating/smelling). Interesting, nice color in cognac. I bought mine a few weeks ago to make an old baggy sleeved straight dress look current and foumd myself wearing them to add zip to various other outfits as well. Loose ankles make them breathable and allow them to be slipped off and on without opening zipper. Might want to avoid slipping on that way too often to avoid crunching the backs! The shape somehow keeps them on my feet, and creates reasonable support, for walking. Outsole has the bounce and flexibility of rubber but can pass as leather and/or wood on all but close inspection. Inside is hard, much like a pair of Frye boots I recently tried.
I normally don't wear dress shoes and can't stand ballet flats or anything with a heel. This was my compromise as I've worn boots in the past. However, since an ankle surgery I can't wear a full fledged boot. These are looser around the ankle and I can actually slip them on and off without unzipping. I like the rubber sole and heel to avoid slipping.
