Understand what you are buying!

When you are christening a boat, you picture using a bottle of champagne. Champagne bottles are made with thick, strong glass to withstand the pressures of the gas build-up in the bottle. I would not try scoring a real bottle of champagne due to the risk of it exploding. This bottle is pre-scored and filled with soapy liquid, so it breaks fairly easily and cleans up well. The mesh will *not* hold all of the glass fragments, so be careful!

Just buy a cheap bottle...

I thought the bottle was designed to break easily...it is not... Just buy a cheap bottle at the liquor store, score it with a glass cutter or dremel tool (as does the Navy when they Christen ships) and you'll be in better shape and you'll save some money.....
