Garmin 200/50kHz Transom Mount Transducer with Depth and Temperature Reviews:

Very Reliable

I took painstaking effort to mount transducer in correct location the first time, and it paid off. Turbulent free water is a must, slightly lower mounting for a riveted aluminum bottom. Mounted 8-1/2 inches to right of prop radius (3" minimum recommended). Worked perfectly without any height adjustment on the water first trip. Held bottom reading at my full 41 mph, which is rare I hear. Depth reading is dead accurate. I lowered the anchor to verify the true depth. Bottom contour is clean reading. Using with Garmin 740S chart plotter. Could use more vertical slot adjustment when all 4 screws are used to mount. Only 1/4" adjustment up and down with supplied bracket. Temperature reads great too. Couldn't be happier. picks up fish marks good too. Using in salt water, 16' aluminum deep-V with 60hp. As with any transducer, PROPER LOCATION & TILT IS A MUST!

Garmin Transducer

Great performance for the price. Exceeded expectations. Added an old sonar / GPS to fishing deck and this additional transducer was needed. This was kind of a mid season experiment. The stock mount lent itself to a simple mod to be mounted on a transom platform support and plenty of angle adjustment to accomidate. No need to haul out! Product performs well even through prop-wash (inboards) at trolling and moderate speeds.

Gently mounted transducer

After choosing a location within the hull I "installed" the transducer without securing it to the fiberglass. This was done to determine whether the transducer would function at that location prior to using epoxy or a sealant which would have made relocation difficult if that position was unacceptable. Transducer works fine enven though unattached.

Great add-on to my Garmin 441s

Ease of installation and connectivity to my Garmin 441s was simple. Only been in use 1 month so far, but very pleased with sonar functions!

Easy to Install

Easy to install, direction easy to follow. Adjustable leveling allows you to perfectly "tweak" the right angle.

Negative Reviews:

Unit reads "transducer disconnected"

They gave me a test procedure to determine that the temp sensor was bad and sent me a T-80 y cable for an easy plug & play fix.
It makes me wonder why Garmin designed the GSD-22 to malfunction when the temp sensor goes bad.
