Great Fitness Watch

I love this watch. I bought it without seeing it in person and was impressed with its slim design, accurate GPS route tracking and ease-of-use. I decided to go with the Forerunner 220 because I felt like the interface would be simpler and hassle-free compared with a touch-screen and so far I have not been disappointed. It was easy for me to customize my screens to give me the critical pieces of data I care most about during my workout.

The biggest downside I've had so far is that whenever I've been in a new location it has taken the watch several minutes to find a satellite for GPS positioning. However where I live it seems to pick up the position within seconds. It was also a bit buggy early on with pairing with my phone for Garmin Connect services but I think that was a software issue that Garmin has since resolved. After seven or eight runs I love this watch.

Great for Running

I've always kept track of my data from running (distance, time, pace, heart rate, % max, etc). I've always had to manually enter it on Excel, and figure out my running route in advance for the miles I wanted to complete. I don't have to do any of it with this watch. The Garmin Connect website is good too. One reason I bought this watch was I was told there was an app for smart phones; there is one, but at this time it's only on the iPhone. I emailed Garmin about the app for Android, they said it should be available by the end of March 2014.

So Far So Good

Though this is my first GPS watch it's pretty easy to use. The operating manual imo assumes prior knowledge of GPS watches, therefore it was not that helpful to me. I used blogs to really learn the ins and outs of the Forerunner. I've contacted Garmin Support once since having the watch. I was only on hold for a few minutes and the person on the other end was very helpful and resolved the problem (user error) quickly.

Awesome Watch; Love It!

I upgraded from the ForeRunner 10. While I really liked the FR10, the 220 was well worth the additional cost. Bright backlight, HRM, Bluetooth upload to my iPhone, quickly finds GPS, HRM, Cadence if I'm stuck running on an indoor track and vibrate alerts (more handy than you'd think). My wife also wanted the Live Track feature in case something happened. I love it!

Love this watch!

It is a bit bulky, but works like a charm! I love the ease and user friendliness of the watch. At the push of a button, I can start and stop my runs, and see the needed information in real time. I can also sync it with my phone and upload my runs. Would definitely recommend!

Negative Reviews:

NO Android Support

I just bought this watch for running, the customer sales representative said it would work with Garmin Connect app for smart phones and I could link it. That's one of the main reasons I bought it. As of right now Garmin Connect app does NOT work with Android for this model, so if this is one of the reasons you want it, DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH!
