Garmin Rino 655T Gps Radio Reviews:

garmin 655

recently lost my garmin radios to a total house fire and replaced them with the two 655 one for me and the other for my son. i down loaded the maps for the area we went to on our elk hunting trip. i have a tendency to becoming disoriented when on the trail of an elk resulting in my son a blackhawk pilot trained in survival to come and find me! lucky me! however, with the new garmin gps i had no difficulty finding my way back which my son is very thankful for! the camera was very helpful in marking the areas i went through. hansel and gretal crums if you will allow the anology. the trip was made more difficult with 10 inches to snow which made the radio/gps even more valuable. sied

Read the manual!

This thing works GREAT! My fiancee is directionally challenged, and the locator feature lets me find her when we are hunting here in Arizona, where a lot of walking is involved. The radio range is good, the pre-loaded maps are adequate, and the controls are easy to use once you read the manual. You have to read it though, or you will drive yourself nuts trying to figure it out. Overall a good product, but I am going to buy the map package and load more detailed maps.

Good product

The GPS system in the Rino 655 T is typical Garmin and works very well. It is easy to use and easy to figure out. The radio range is not as far as advertised. The maximun range at a location with line of sight from mountain top to mountain top was less than 4,000 yards.
