Fantastic Accessory

This Tempe is a great addition to your Garmin compatible GPS. I am using the Tempe on my Garmin Montana 600. Nice to know what the current temperature is or how cold it got during the night. Sometimes I even use it at home with the sensor outside in the shade outside to read the current temperature or to see how cold it got. It also records min/max temps even with the gps power off so you don't run the gps battery down by having to leave it on all the time. Of course you just need to keep the sensor out of direct sunlight and away from any heat source ( your body included ) to get very accurate temp readings. It is very hard for me to tell how much gps battery drain comes from the added wireless communication between the sensor and gps but that can also be turned off in the setup menu if you want. I love this wireless temp sensor and thank REI for carring this product.

Fun GPS Accessory

This is a great toy/tool and I use it whenever I pull out my GPS. However, I am always afraid that it will fall off and be lost whenever I clip it on my pack as designed. Would be great if Garmin would add some sort of tie point as a backup.
