"Hard to determine fit without breaking in, but quality, etc are A+ as usual from Garmont."

| Great, super light, stiff, well-made as to be expected from Garmont. The only reason I exchanged them was that I couldn't be sure of the fit in the heel without committing to them and doing the break-in. Its the nature of a stiff shoe, but one more eyelet in the lacing would have made the difference. If I could have anchored my heel down better with the lacing, I'd be wearing them now. I exchanged them for my third pair of La Sportiva Exums. I would try these again when I have time to break them in and dont have to do a sierra fourteener climb with them right out of the box, 6 miles in, 13 pitches, descent, 6 miles out. I can and have done this with two pairs of Exums. | |

"Best I've had on my feet in a LONG time!"

| I'm a 10.5 wide, I mean I have duck feet people. I called up Moosejaw and the always amazing customer support and explained to them my mermaid finned feet and they pointed me in the direction of these guys. After years I can tell how a shoe will survived after the first time I put them on... The Dragontails were amazing comfortable and had ROOM!!!! Thanks to Moosejaw I've found a shoe I hope to last me a long time and I've already taken them out into Joshua Tree and did and overnight hike which ended up at about 5 miles. These were out of the box brand new and I returned this morning with no blistering, irriation, or discomfort! Love Em! and thanks once again Moosejaw!!! | |

| To begin with, these are probably the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned much less had on my feet. They do it all too - Since I bought them three weeks ago I have used them for long approaches and decents, climbing, plane flights, and defending myself from rabid street dogs (I´m in Argentina right now) to name a few things. They have performed top notch in all areas. The grip on the rocks is freakin sweet!! I have them in red. Fashion-wise I´m told they are totally uncool (I lack the section of brain matter that is supposed to tell you that sort o thing), but who gives a rats ass when you can climb the paint off walls in complete comfort?!¿! | |

| Great shoe from a great brand. Rugged yet comfortable out of the box. My last pair of Garmont approach shoes lasted through years of tough use, and I expect these will be no different. Probably not the best choice for trail running, but excellent for everything else. Very supportive with a stiff Vibram sole. I have wide feet, so had to go up a half size to get a comfortable fit. As a bonus, you can expect to get plenty of compliments on how the Dragontails look. | |

| I purchased these as I am a huge fan of Garmont,I also purchased Five-Ten's Guide Teenie...I was looking more for an approach shoe thank a low top hiker...I kept the Five-Tens and returned the Garmont, I am a size 13, and they felt a bit sloppy on my feet. A well built shoe and well desinged, just since I own the Garmont Vetta I saw no need for these also... | |

| I\'ve worn these about two weeks now. The one thing that I am most impressed with is how light they are. I really like the look of an approach type shoe. These don\'t disappoint. The heel cup is very supportive, and these broke in very nicely. I bought these for day hiking and think they will fill the bill. | |

Firm footing with the Dragontail

| Garmont: Men's Dragontail Approach Shoe are a favorite hiking shoe. Snug fit with lacing to the toe. These break in quickly, I don't anticipate that they will break down quickly though. Garmont always delivers a quality product and I have no reason to think otherwise with this shoe. | |

I like them so far.......

| Great shoe...laces to the toe make for a snug fit when necessary...toe box is a bit small at first but breaks in fairly quickly...Overall, a comfortable shoe that has more than enough support and rigidity for day hikes, daily wear etc.... | |

| I really like the dragontail so far. The sole is super stiff though and takes some getting used to. The stiffness is good for hiking with a loaded pack but not as much for just walking around town. | |

Dragontail - great shoe

| Garmont makes a great, tough, durable product. The soles are moderately stiff for more technical climbs in the summer, they're comfortable, and look great. | |
