The Garmont factory has manufactured footwear for over 140 years. Garmont is at the height of innovation for footwear and ski boots and produces the only ski boots with triple-injection technology. Garmont trail footwear features Garmont anatomically directed design and spine system technology which adds stability to footwear at less weight.
If you are a tele skier, you've been dreaming about this. A Telemark boot that feels like an extension of the foot. The new Prophet NTN uses the new Garmont Power Wrap shell. The high Overlap shell design follows the contours of the foot and ankle more precisely than traditional tongue designs for the most responsive, progressive flex. The Power Wrap shell fits out of the box like bootfitter has already customized it. The shell wraps very close to the foot and has been punched and shaped to fit the anatomy of the human foot.

Tele systems for the next decade | |

| I've been considering converting full time to tele over the past few years but had always used my alpine gear on those "fast" days here in the east. The traditional tele gear (G3 bindings) was great for me to learn on but I couldn't keep up with my alpine buddies. This year I decided to try the NTN system with the Garmont Prophet boot the the Rottefella NTN binding, and I may never go back. After skiing the new gear for 12 days over the Christmas holidays, I can't come up with a single complaint. The boots have just the right flex point to allow me to use an agressive alpine turn on the flats, jump turns in the bumps, and a full tele turn when I want to get low. I'm impressed with the Garmont features and feel that it's worth the extra cost for a 2010 version. The only thing I needed to do was put in a differenet foot bed with a thin riser plate as the 26.5 was a bit big for my 8.5 size foot. While the Garmont boots are nice, the Rottefella NTN binding is even more impressive. It's stable side-to-side and the piston springs keep the ski flat on my foot in transistion so I don't feel like I have to "find" the ski every time I initiate a new turn. I did a few spin-outs and one or two face plants and was pleased to see that the bindings came off when they needed to. All this, and the orange color looks cool too. If you're thinking of buying new tele gear this year, spend the extra bucks and go for NTN. You won't be sorry! One of the quotes I saw in Telemark Tips was "There are 2 opinions of NTN. Either people love them, or haven't skied them yet". I think whoever said this first was right. | |
